I am new, I just joined this sight after reading a thread about the Gadianton Robbers so I could share some info with a non member friend on facebook. He was talking about how the prophets have foretold about things that are happening today with secret societies so, of course, I had to share about the BOM also addressing the subject.

I am discovering that some of the things I learned in the past are incorrect, so I have been asking a lot of questions and re-learning the gospel. I can't say whether or not I would have gone inactive had I known the gospel better, but I am glad that I chose to come back to the church and get serious about my eternal progression. I look forward to making some new LDS friends here and joining in discussions. I'm not new to the platform, I have been a member of other forums with the same software, and I have also been admin, so I am familiar with how this runs. Thank you to the creators of this site for providing a place where we can socialize and learn.

It's such a broad subject, and difficult to convey all my thoughts on the matter in one post. I will say this though, we are very blessed to have the benefit of a prophet and his insight. We have a clearer view of the end times, what to expect, and what the Lord expects of us. The general public is just starting to really become aware in the last, maybe 2 decades??? But there are still many out there who label such thinking as radical and imaginative. We know of these combinations because we have the benefit of the BOM and have been fore-warned.

My father's father was a 32nd degree free mason when he passed away 6 years ago. My aunt's were trying to give my son his cuff links that had certain symbols on them, but my son left them alone. I am glad he did, because wearing those could attract the wrong kind of attention.

I see so many books, movies, and TV shows that are centered around magic, witch craft, and the paranormal, desensitizing those exposed. I see factions of our government making decisions that are not in the best interest of the greater population of this world, and I see scientists changing our food, our animals/livestock, and our own bodies through genetic engineering and trying to convince the public that fetal stem cell research isn't bad because the baby isn't even really alive. I don't think they counted on a few of us remembering the pre-existence and the process of gestation and birth, if you ask me.

I once had a working relationship with the grand master for the state I live In, for 6 to 7 Month's time. We should share the teachings they taught some time. In my case, even though we were very close, He shared nothing. Welcome to you despite my sharing my experience.

Here's another insightfull thread on "Identifying and not supporting Gadiantons" that you might enjoy. It was started years ago by Prof Steven Jones, the BYU physics professor who got kicked out I think for identifying Gadiantons! (he was a big part of the "Impeach Cheney First" movement back around 2006...) He objected to BYU giving Dick Cheney an honorary doctoral degree in 2007; same year he was "early-retired"

These books were two we were lead to in answer to our prayers asking the Lord what to do about our constitution - needless maybe to point out the Lord's answer was and still is, learn and seek knowledge even by study and prayer, even in some of the best books.

I second this question. I'm very curious about your statement, RF.
