My point is...men and women are both offenders in all these areas....
Absolutely true! Problem is that in the eyes of conservative Christians of all types it seems the contribution women make to these sins is generally psychologically denied. The reverse of course exists in Islam where it appears men blame women for being the ones who bring men down to sin.

That point made I believe that if you are going to have a meeting about the evils of treating children badly it should be done quite frequently in Relief Society. I will repeat, women are the ones who do the majority of cases of child abuse.

As for sexual sins like fornication and adultery unless men are out there with bouquets of roses in the mens-room then we must assume that for every man cheating on his wife a woman is cheating with him. Sorry, its a mathematical certainty for the most part. One wonders what the results would be if every child was given a DNA test at birth to make sure if their dad really shares their DNA. I knew a evangelical woman (good education and socio-economic status)whose husband had a vasectomy after their second child and then a miracle occurred...she got pregnant a year later. She never told her husband about that or the abortion she obtained right afterwards.

Oh, c'mon...you know better. You want the Bishop to preach on Sunday then condemn him when he calls a meeting to preach on Thursday? Can't win with you, Obrien. You'll be critical no matter what a Bishop does.

Thankfully, Meili and I are not eligible. (I was going to say, "Will never be eligible," but then wondered if women really will get those callings in some future day.)

For sure, men don't have a corner on the "being an abuser" market. I think that case where the young woman traveled from California to Arizona and killed her ex-boyfriend a while back ... I think he was a victim of severe abuse. I think she made his life a living hell from the time they met until the time she murdered him. And he probably didn't tell anyone because ... well, they'd probably laugh at him, mock him. And he may have felt ... I mean, what does a man feel if/when he is the victim of abuse by a female?

"You guys and your bishop worship..."

Really?

You're completely ridiculous.

I suppose a child that respects and looks up to his primary teacher is guilty of teacher worship too, huh?

You could say this about anything. BTW it's wrong and stupid every single time.

You're solidly turning into a right troll.

Guys. It's only the internet. It's only a conversation with someone you probably have never met and probably will never meet.

Actually, I'd be fine with skipping most of the Sunday preaching by the bishop, too. I wish I was in your ward, so I could hear from you...:(

Definitely not a curmudgeon, but someone who falsely accuses people of "Bishop Worship" and all manner of ridiculousness such as this.

I'm sure you're a nice guy but if you say stupid crap on a public "Pro LDS" forum, I'm gonna call you on it.
