Missionaries and iPads

Post by ajax »

Not really about hastening...more about learning to deal righteously with technology. Oh, and missionaries will need to buy them from now on.

I always felt there was just something so cold and impersonal about reading scripture on an Ipad or computer, which is why I never do it.
I know the missionaries thought I was crazy for my weird aversion to technology...but most people aren't like me and this is probably a good idea.

I deal heavily in technology in my life and I love it. I have a degree in Information Technology. However I'm like you. I have a strong aversion to reading scriptures on ipads and such devices. I can not stand it. Something about it does not feel right to me.

I don't really know why I am like this, I mean I am in my mid 20s, I should be lapping this stuff up like candy but, no... I don't even have a smartphone.

Me either, I am in my 50s, no smart phone, never even have had a cell phone unless my employer provided it. Also weird because my entire career has been in the tech sector.

Maybe they are charging for all the man-hours spent in trying to lock-down any access to non-approved sites.

It's sorta funny that TPTB did not anticipate the huge problem that proselytizing via Facebook would create. You can tell the missionaries what to share, but you can't control what people will respond with, for all the world to see.

Yeah the internet is full of jerks, a lot more then you'd think, especially when you bring up religion...yeesh.
I like the LDS church and even I poke fun at it (not to be mean but, that's just what I do)

is that why you chose the acronym AMD in your username LucianAMD ? That is truly nerdy if so :D and I'm ok with that being a nerd myself.
