Is god still progressing?

Post by FSM »

I understand how we can progress through constantly using our free agency to make progressively better choices. Is our God in the same situation were in? I heard he was, but is there a God over him that acts as gently guiding force to help him with constant celestial progression? Could that be why he still uses free agency?

I look at God progressing in Glory.

I had 7 children, I have now progressed as they have had their own children. This will continue forever.

I think this is how it is with God. He has already achieved Godhood, now he is helping his children do so.

I have wondered about that for a long time too.
My thoughts are that He is. Because I look at the state in which we are in on this world at this time. If you listen to the temple endowment presentation, Lucifer is cursed this time for which has been done in other world's. Why is that? Are things still progressing? When the time comes when those of us that reach celestial glory, Heavenly Father I would think will have progressed to a"higher level" of glory. He will never stop.

That is my philosophy mingled with no scripture.

Things remain fixed during a cycle of creation, but in going from one cycle to another, things can be progressed.
When a new foundation for a new cycle of creation is laid, free-will enters into things and the Elohiem can make improvements, which I suppose also means digressions could be made as well, when all things are foreordained for that new cycle.
