Does God have free agency?

Last week I was offered 2 nice jobs. Usually I just let logic be my guide but I needed help with this one. I could not decide which job to take and both were great jobs so I decided to inquire of the lord to see if he had an opinion. After praying it came to me that I should except my second offer.
This made me wonder if God used free agency to decide which one to guide me too? The good news is I did not have to wait long for the spirit to point me in the right direction.
So I was wondering when helping us make decisions does the lord use free agency to decide which way to guide us?

agency is a tricky topic. it boils down to this: either the choices I make come from my makeup, and external circumstances; or else they hinge on random chance. (random chance is all that remains after removing external circumstances and my character). neither one of those feels very much like agency. because, if the former is true then my actions are deterministic like a machine; if the latter is true then the decision hinged on nothing definable about myself. Or perhaps all there is to me is a random number generator, certainly nothing to praise. I find it slightly preferable to I believe the former. I can stomach the idea that my entire future is somehow encoded in the current state of affairs, if it saves me from the idea of my future being up to chance.

If God didn't have agency, he could not fall - as other Gods have chosen to do. We don't trip and fall into hell or perdition, it's a choice; we choose the master we will serve, and we choose what we become. God chooses to continue in the direction he's going.

My answer is no, he did not use agency to tell you which job to take, he used his ability to see into the future and then directed you to the job that would best bless your spiritual growth.

As for the question does God have agency, the answer is yes. The distinction is he has mastered self-government and policies himself.

Yes, God has agency, but it has been covered. The BoM says in like 5 places that God could cease to be God. If he chose to be anything other than what He is, He would cease to be God. That implies choice.

Jesus Christ had agency during his mortal life. Satan tempted him and failed. Jesus asked the Father to allow him to forego the terrible, agonizing sacrifice he would have to make, and then said, "not my will, but thine be done." If we use our agency properly, we will become gods.

God knows the beginning from the end - has perfect knowledge of the future. A thing like which job to take does not require agency on heavens part.

One option will always have a better outcome, for you, your family, the people you will be working with, the company you work for etc. It has long term eternal consequences and it is not just about you. One needs to see the interconnections which only the heavens know about - hence the faith to follow the guidance given by the spirit.

This is very similar to the thought that keeps floating around in the back of my head. It is all about choices. I also wonder if God judges us all all? Certainly he's the final judge. But don't we by our choices judge ourselves?

Yes! You are right - we actually are our own judge. If we choose to follow the Lord, he ministers to us and walks with us on this journey as we work through our crap - but we come to a realization of every one of the things keeping us from progression, and then we choose to work to overcome it. It's very individual and very much a choice and we absolutely do judge ourselves.

my opinion would be that God does have free will, and so do all the angels, but God has chosen not to sin, so! by his free will he chooses not to even look at sin. but what is sin? and whats NOT sin! IF God can have multiple wives, there nothing invalid or sinful in having another wife. do all things in righteousness.

Yes, we become our own judges by our choices, which is explained in Alma 41:4-7,

4 And if their works are evil they shall be restored unto them for evil. Therefore, all things shall be restored to their proper order, every thing to its natural frame—mortality raised to immortality, corruption to incorruption—raised to endless happiness to inherit the kingdom of God, or to endless misery to inherit the kingdom of the devil, the one on one hand, the other on the other—

5 The one raised to happiness according to his desires of happiness, or good according to his desires of good; and the other to evil according to his desires of evil; for as he has desired to do evil all the day long even so shall he have his reward of evil when the night cometh.
