Number of Snuffer followers
At the risk of starting another Denver Suffer thread I would like to ask if anyone here has any idea just how many followers of Denver Snuffer there might be? I realize this is likely an impossible question to answer given the un-centralized nature of his movement but I would be interested in hearing your estimates in any event.
Thank you.
Thank you.

A Snuffer-like LDS REMNANT Facebook page has somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 members.gkearney wrote:At the risk of starting another Denver Suffer thread I would like to ask if anyone here has any idea just how many followers of Denver Snuffer there might be? Approximately a tenth of the followers of Dehlin and the followers of Kelly.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints reports around 1.3 million members on their Facebook page.
If we used comparable statistics I would say there are around 5,000 to 10,000 Snuffer followers.

you can only guess because none of them will actually admit to following him.

Re: Number of Snuffer followers
I was accused of being a DS follower, apparently because I take Mormon chapter 8 seriously.gkearney wrote:At the risk of starting another Denver Suffer thread I would like to ask if anyone here has any idea just how many followers of Denver Snuffer there might be? Apparently that is a big deal to Snufferites too?
Aren't we still under condemnation for not taking the Book of Mormon and the "former commandments" serious enough? Seems to me this is something that all LDS people should make a big deal about. I mean, hey, when something is condemned, you can expect the wrecking ball will being doing the rounds unless and until the reason for the condemnation is rectified.
Unless Denver has written a new book he touts as holy writ and claims that he is now THE Prophet, I think it is pointless to try and delineate people as followers of Denver Snuffer.

Re: Number of Snuffer followers
Call me a Snufferite if you want, I don't care. I believe I'm following Jesus Christ according to the dictats of my conscious(AofF 11). In fact we must not be "of" any according to D&C 76. Not of Paul, or Apollos or Cephas; and I would say of Smith, Monson, or even Snuffer we fall short. We cannnot be "of" any but of Christ, otherwise we cannot inherit Celestial glory.
As far as numbers, I would really put the number much lower than 5,000 to 10,000. There are 3 facebook groups I belong to and they run from 700 to 400 to 50(YSA). I wouldn't even say that is the extent of the "followers" but I wouldn't say everyone on those groups are "on board" either. There are many who simply are there to observe, or don't even really stick with it. I wouldn't put a number over 2,000.

I have his books, I met him in his Sandy office to get them signed and to meet the man I admired very much. Until he said something, that I will not get into here, that he said was of God and it most certainly was not nor was it in any scripture. So no matter how much good the man had/has done this one item turned me off to him and his words forever, until the time he repents and see's that he cannot speak for God nor have revelation for anyone but himself. Just my personal experience that makes it -1 in the follower list.

Re: Number of Snuffer followers
Curious. Do you suppose what he told you was a result of you going to visit him for his autograph? If anyone ever sought me out-idolized me-I might be inclined to tell you something that would push you away. I've never met him and have no desire to meet him, so it's hard to make a judgment one way or another.LittleLion wrote:I have his books, I met him in his Sandy office to get them signed and to meet the man I admired very much. Re: Number of Snuffer followers
To be honest I have no idea why he said what he said. I called him prior to meeting him at the end of the day in his office so I don't think it was an issue of him trying to push me away or he could have easily told me he would not be available. And I don't think he thought I idolized him at all. It was a pleasant meeting and we talking over 30 minutes about many subjects. *shrugs* I don't understand it.marc wrote:Curious. I'm not quite sure I understand what it was that he said that turned you off. Could you repeat it.
Never mind.

Whatever number you come up with, subtract one. I DO NOT follow DS.
If I had a gun held to my head and was told to name a man I follow, it would have to be Rock Waterman. Love that guy. Love you Rock!
Snuffer? Great writer. Great speaker. Messenger from God. But I would not follow him.

Re: Number of Snuffer followers
GK -- you'd get a better or "straight" answer if you refrain from referring to Snuffer "followers" (a term they generally don't like) and instead asked -
Quoting Snuffer:
Tim Malone blog:
How many believe the teaching of Denver Snuffer that the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and all other general authorities lost the priesthood at the April 2014 General Conference?
Quoting Snuffer:
An adherent to this teaching is Tim Malone, who wrote in a public blog:Last general conference, the entire First Presidency, the 12, the 70, and all other
general authorities and auxiliaries, voted to sustain those who abused their authority in
casting me out of the church.
At that moment, the Lord ended all claims of the church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to claim it is led by the priesthood." -- D Snuffer
More: “If you were ordained in the LDS Church before April 2014 you can bless the sacrament and baptize. Otherwise, you should hold a conference among yourselves to sustain those who will minister unto you.” -- Snuffer
Tim Malone blog:
I have discussed this claim before, more than once, and noted scriptures that go IMHO against this central teaching of Mr Snuffer.Significance of April 2014 Conference
Per Denver, “If you were ordained in the LDS Church before April 2014 you can bless the sacrament and baptize. Otherwise, you should hold a conference among yourselves to sustain those who will minister unto you.” This is an obvious reference to the date he claims to have wrested the kingdom or authority away from the Church. What an amazing claim to make. "

I disagree, my friend. To get a "straight" answer, the questions (as a poll would be interesting) ought to be something like this:BroJones wrote:GK -- you'd get a better or "straight" answer if you refrain from referring to Snuffer "followers" (a term they generally don't like) and instead asked -

Hm. Maybe I'll do that. How many believe that Denver opens the scriptures up like no man before him (in my lifetime)?
How many believe that Denver teaches what the Lord told him to teach?
How many believe that Denver teaches the truth, but maybe the Lord didn't tell him to say all of that stuff?
How many believe that Denver began teaching truth but got off the rails?
How many believe that the first book was spot on, but then Denver let pride rule his heart and followed the wrong path?
How many believe Denver is an agent of the devil?
How many believe Denver ... "meh, who cares about him"?
