WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO HEAR IN CONFERENCE APRIL 2015?

Being that the signs are too many to ignore, what do you hope to hear from living apostles and prophets in this 2015, April general conference?

The point of this thread isn't to attack or criticize the brethren but discuss what we hope to hear from them, as I am getting personal revelation as to the signs of things to come and what to do to prepare.

I would hope that living apostles and prophets declare some of the same by the same workings of the spirit, for the benefit of the members of the church under their stewardship, even to rid their garments of the responsibility of our sins and iniquities, as did King Benjamin or Abinadi.

Maybe it will be in the form of a letter to bishops or stake presidents and not in GC, but either way what do you hope to hear from them in this April 2015 GC?

I have watched every conference since baptism. I won't be watching this year, or ever again. Waste of time. I watch for the Savior and converse with Him. Wonderful, best use of my time on earth ever.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! I wonder however if you can watch conference as we still do, because of the love and charity we can have for the people within the confines of the membership, esp. those who maybe are "running things their own way (a form of Balaamism)".

I had the spirit give powerful insights to both truths and false doctrines in last conference, so it ended up being a powerfully spiritual, unexpected experience to sit and listen to GC, as the Lord gave me understanding of things that otherwise I would have just assumed or missed out on.

Either way, I agree with much of your thoughts - the Spirit is the only messenger we have been asked to take as our guide to the Savior.

So when any man speaks, I must weigh and measure such words against the Holy Ghost, and assure I'm living my life to have the "unspeakable gift" with me or at least able to hear the whisperings to the heart.

Anyone else disagree, have other thoughts? What do you hope to hear in this coming GC?

I hope to hear the leaders of this church testify openly that they commune with the Lord in this flesh, share their intimate experiences, and teach all of us that we can do exactly that ourselves. So far, that has not happened since Joseph Smith. I'd like to see that happen again.

I agree 501c3 super bad mojo.

And I would love to hear a lot of the same. But I have come to the understanding that we won't hear anything other then hope love charity.

Not because the leaders don't have more to say. Because as the scriptures say 2 nephi 28:30 and 2 nephi 27:5


The lord won't allow it because of the wickness of the people. We are being blessed with the leadership we have and confustion we have in the church because the majority has rejected our saviors gosple.

I know that if the lord were to come back and stand in front of the members of the lds church and preach his gosple incognito. Most would reject him.
D&c 121 34-40 says this many called few chosen. V's 38 says those not chosen fight aginst him. They are not his. And that is most of the lds. As most are not going to be chosen. It's a sad state.

We have a membership that is ignorantly dooming themself by not seeking and understanding our saviors words and understanding them. Instead they focus on the things of the world. D&c112 23-28 is coming quickly.

I am hopeful however hearing from many more all with the Goal to awaken us to come closer personally to Christ by possibly understanding what already was shared (which I think is quite profound) in the first few responses above. ;)

I too would love to hear of their more intimate experiences as many others are sharing here on this LDSFF and elsewhere sharing such experiences with people like ourselves, which experiences have brought us and invited us to holier spheres as we individually come to Christ.

Listen and heed the Spirit. Stand with the wheat.

Changes will come ... concentrate on the pearl and not the box.

I would like to hear that the warnings of Moroni in ETHER 8 have NOT[ been withdrawn. I would like to hear that the management of the DESERET NEWS is being replaced (of course, this one item would NOT be the subject of any conference talk). I would like to hear that it is not OK to just let our freedom and liberty die. I would like to hear that LDS members have a dire responsibility to maintain liberty and freedom.

Would be good to finally see Hosea 14:8 fullfilled while I am yet alive and before I go the way of all the earth.

Where the leaders of the House of Ephraim would finally turn from pursuit of idols first and foremost, to pursuit of being equal in their temporal things and this not grudgingly by beginning a stewardship program of inheritances for all the poor Saints of covenants and deeds that cannot be broken put into their hands sufficient for the support of their families and get the experience finally imparting as the gospel of Jesus Christ requires and that Jesus Christ requested back on June 22, 1834 in Doctrine and Covenants section 105 verses 1-12.

This would also bring about the fullness of the gospel being lived and the foundation of Zion being laid and the bride being brought out of the closet for presentation to the bridegroom.

Could be a great reason for all to rejoice and be glad, knowing that the Lord will then do great things. ♡ ♡

I strongly suspect that it will be more of the same. Basic gospel doctrines explained, with their own or other's life stories to illustrate a gospel concept, etc.

I don't expect to hear any earth-shattering revelations, and in truth, we don't need or want the world's attention on that point, especially if we as a church plan to leave babylon to dwell in tents till the storms blow over. I'm sure whatever they're going to say on that subject will be hidden messages like what they've already said in the past.

I would hope to hear the power of God calling us to repentance so that we may withstand the coming days before the Lord's return - and that we may withstand His coming. I would hope to hear in plainness how this country and those of us in this church need to repent of our wickedness (as described to the apostles and prophets from the mouth of the Lord, Himself).

I would hope to hear them tell us that they are no better than we, that they also sin (using scriptures wherein the Lord called Joseph Smith to repentance) - to tell us to stop standing when they enter and leave a room, and to stop honoring them - because it is a temptation towards self-aggrandizement that they would prefer not to struggle against.

It is the Lord that spoke unto Moses saying in Leviticus 19:32-

"Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord."

So forget not what the Lord has said of the "hoary heads and old men".

But the Lord has also said to weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion that the old men and administers of the law of God might just awaken and give ear and consider:

Hath this corruption and perversion of equity and justice and righteousness been in our day and time and even in the days of our fathers?

And then realize, yes, yes it is, and has been in our days and even in the days of our fathers, and be ashamed for these things, as is written in the book of Joel.

So do not feel bad rising up before the hoary heads and honoring the face of the old man as the Lord has said.

But don't feel bad about sounding the alarm about the perversion of equity either as the Lord has said to do as well. ♡ ♡

You are to love one another, and there is no greater honor you can give, than love of a pure heart. ♡ ♡

Some time ago the idea struck me that an apostle might stand up at conference and begin outlining some of the things that have been going on at the top that the members do not know about. Ever since then, I have hoped to hear of such an event. I have tried to attend conference the past two years but had interference come up each time. I won't be trying this April. I've given up.

Your ticket includes the meal. The choice is ours if we want to get anything out of conference. There have been a few conferences that I've left feeling malnurished only to later re read some of the talks and be well fed. The difference was my own doing. I suspect many who have posted will find conference a waste, if they even bother. Others will hear the word of God.

This is a good answer.

I have gotten the most out of meetings when I went asking the Lord to teach me something, or with a question. And I would get an answer, whether the person speaking was a 12-16 year old youth speaker or an apostle in general conference.

What do I hope to hear? The same thing I hear every GC-the Lord's servants declaring His words to an imperfect people.
What do I expect to hear? Well...all the above, plus plenty of criticism of the Lord's anointed, for doing the will of God, and not the people.

I used to think the same, but then I started listening to some really inspired pastors who love the lord equally, from other sects, and they say it how it is on TV, with sometimes a much larger audience than that of GC... So either they are missing the boat or are likening king Benjamin to themselves?

And for what the Lord needs me to hear, not what I want to hear.
