It all stems on the condition of your heart. swearing with hatred, or swearing with righteous intent. :D
J Golden must have been the latter. I think a lot of LDS's are in the latter because many of us say things out of character and hope to do better.

It is not the prerogative of posters here to advise the Prophet and Apostles what to do. Individual members are responsible to provide for themselves and their families, and not expect others to work to provide for them.

If swearing becomes a bad habit this is problematic and wrong. If we lose our cool because of sudden pain or an act by someone that stirs us it still stems to the condition of one's heart. Repentance and continued effort to do better as opposed to not caring. Swearing on purpose is not good at all.

Ten Reasons Why I Swear
1. It pleases mother so much.

2. It is a fine mark of manliness, or female refinement.

3. It proves I have self control.

4. It indicates how clearly my mind operates.

5. It makes my conversation so pleasing to everybody.

6. It leaves no doubt in anyone's mind as to my good breeding.

7. It impresses people that I have more than ordinary education.

8. It is and unmistakable sign or culture and refinement.

9. It makes me a very desirable personality among women and children and in respectable society.

10. It is my way of honoring God who said, "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain."

I can give advice as a caring brother anytime.

God knows what I desire.

If I see it is written that the Twelve and Seventy Shepherds destroy all the blind sheep and they both are judged, found guilty, and thrust into the fiery abyss, I believe it becomes my duty to God and to them to do as the Lord has said and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion about the perversion of equity and justice and righteousness and goodness and purity of heart and hope that they might give ear as it is written.

I know that if I was in their place I would want them to do that for me. ♡ :)

As far as swearing is concerned, charity like that manifested by Peter will cover the multitude of sins as it has been written. ♡ :)

Regina,

I believe I am only repeating what Jesus Christ has commanded be done.

Tithes which are for him and his house where there can be meat in it as well, is to give the poor a house and meat as well, that as you have given to them you have given directly to him.

No where does Jesus Christ say go and make the poor earn, what I have commanded that you give unto them.

Sorry but that is the doctrines of man and not God.

The Scriptures written testify to just give to the poor, over and over and over and over and over, again and again and again. ♡ :)

I believe having a broken heart and contrite spirit is being poor in spirit.

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men

3 Therefore they were not permitted to enter into their synagogues to worship God, being esteemed as filthiness; therefore they were poor; yea, they were esteemed by their brethren as dross; therefore they were poor as to things of the world; and also they were poor in heart.

3 Yea, blessed are the poor in spirit who come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

17 Wo unto you poor men, whose hearts are not broken, whose spirits are not contrite, and whose bellies are not satisfied, and whose hands are not stayed from laying hold upon other men’s goods, whose eyes are full of greediness, and who will not labor with your own hands!

This last verse tells us that people without a broken heart and contrite spirit can be greedy and will not labor with their own hands. These are not the poor, they are users. It is not the responsibility of the church to go about giving to all the poor because of these users, the greedy, the lazy. Wisdom is needed in order to dispense goods to those truly having a broken heart.

There is no better teaching, than when one see with their own eyes, someone stealing away your goods, and you just letting them go. And upon asking hear the words of Jesus Christ spoken, when asking you why, and you say because that is what Jesus Christ has said to do, and see you were glad to have had the chance to show heavenly father that you hear him and obey.

There is no better teacher than when someone sees with their own eyes the poor being just given a home especially when some are grateful and fall upon their knees weeping with gratitude, and to hear with their own ears that Jesus Christ has said to so do, and you hear him and obey.

Giving up your life freely with no bitterness towards those who would take your life, changed the hearts of many when they saw the people of King Lamoni, who had been converted to Christ and would praise God while being slain, rather than harm in return. And there were more souls joined to God than had been slain on that day because of this perfect example given. ♡ :)

The lessons to the poor, is to see this light of Jesus Christ in you, and come to understand fully, that you really do care for them, and love them, as God has said to do. ♡ :)

What would you think, when brought before the Judgment bar of Christ, and it was said you did not do all that he said to do, and would be letting a "user" into the kingdom of heaven, and when it was asked, how did you treat the users that came to you, what did you do? And it was told that you gave liberally, notwithstanding the fact that you knew they were users, as was called by the people.

You may find this one of your greatest blessings as it was judged on you that as you had done for others so let it be done unto you.

And you know not, when these who have just used you, may sometimes ponder, why are you so happy when they are not, and deep in their hearts, a change begins to happen, where they begin to change, for the better as well, and you will have helped heal them spiritually. ♡ :)

Those who seek to undermine, criticise, and defame The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her Prophet and Apostles would do well to ponder the day of their judgement.

Then all the prophets that testified of the latter days and the House of Ephraim and spoken of what will be, of the perversion of equity and wickedness and to cry and weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion have written for nought.

It is not that one would wish harm upon any but to keep them from harms way.

Any yes, any who would pull them into the streets and stone them yes, this is wrong and not of loving kindness.

But the words of Enoch the Prophet are what they are of the last days and of the Twelve and Seventy Shepherds that destroy all the blind sheep, and they both are judged, found guilty, and thrust into the fiery abyss.

And the words of the very Eternal Father in Heaven that commanded that Jesus Christ say unto us, that after the fullness of the gospel has been rejected, if you will return not, you shall be as salt that has lost its savor, good for nothing but to be cast out and trodden under the foot of men.

So please weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion about the perversion of equity as God has said to do, that it will be well worth it should the old men and administers of the law of God and the Tithes return to keep the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and not be cast into the fiery abyss spoken of by Enoch and be as salt that has lost its savor, good for nothing but to be cast out.

Do as God has said to do. ♡ :)

The members of the church are not all going to Father's kingdom collectively. We are going there individually, therefore, it is up to each and every member to have charity, to give of our substance to the poor, to visit the sick and afflicted. It is all the members, the body of Christ that has the charge to show charity. It makes no difference what calling a member has, from nursery to prophet, it is the members that make the difference of having a good church or a bad church. Lots of us members have given to the poor, whether down the block, in a park or through donations. This includes beggars, because we all are beggars. We ask God for things daily, He gives us the very air we breathe, although man has polluted it. He provides water for us, yet man has polluted it as well. Very few places exist where water is so pure one can see the bottom many feet down and watch fish swimming.
But God says to give in secret and he will reward openly. So I take no liberty in how I show charity. I would be amiss expecting church leaders to do what I am commanded to do. God will judge me for what I did not do, not what the church didn't do for me in my place. When everyone does their part the church is functioning the way it is set up to do. Then we have a true Zion people.
Does this make sense?

I can only tell you after doing a book report on all the things Jesus Christ has said to do, and all the ways he said to be like, and all the things Jesus Christ has said to know, that I myself could hear his voice calling for our day and time to weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion about the perversion of equity, that perhaps the old men and administers of the law of God might just give ear.

So this my dear family members of God is his will that we dilligently do if we come to see and understand and know of these things.

If I say nothing my conscious would continually be aware I was not doing what he had said to do.

So for me it is my duty to God to weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion, about the perversion of equity, as I can't get to the point of relaxation, I know it is said that ignorance is bliss, and it might be for the silly doves of the house of Ephraim, till they get to the judgment bar of Christ.

I know that when someone steals away my goods I am to just let them go, and to not store up riches and all the other things that Jesus Christ has said to do and be like and know.

It's like being in the birth canal struggling to get born and to get this pure heart sanctified and purified, perfect before God, as he has said, be ye therefore perfect.

I believe that this is possible and I still have to do much more mighty fasting, and praying, for his spirit to be with me as I should.

I know the House of Ephraim is going to fullfill perfectly the words of the Scriptures written, and will eventually say, "What have I to do anymore with idols?" And I believe sounding the alarm can hasten this happening, at least that is the hope. ♡ :)

Again, it is the responsibility of church members to take care of the poor.

D&C 42:30-39
30 And behold, thou wilt remember the poor, and consecrate of thy properties for their support that which thou hast to impart unto them, with a covenant and a deed which cannot be broken.

31 And inasmuch as ye impart of your substance unto the poor, ye will do it unto me; and they shall be laid before the bishop of my church and his counselors, two of the elders, or high priests, such as he shall appoint or has appointed and set apart for that purpose.

32 And it shall come to pass, that after they are laid before the bishop of my church, and after that he has received these testimonies concerning the consecration of the properties of my church, that they cannot be taken from the church, agreeable to my commandments, every man shall be made accountable unto me, a steward over his own property, or that which he has received by consecration, as much as is sufficient for himself and family.

33 And again, if there shall be properties in the hands of the church, or any individuals of it, more than is necessary for their support after this first consecration, which is a residue to be consecrated unto the bishop, it shall be kept to administer to those who have not, from time to time, that every man who has need may be amply supplied and receive according to his wants.

34 Therefore, the residue shall be kept in my storehouse, to administer to the poor and the needy, as shall be appointed by the high council of the church, and the bishop and his council;

35 And for the purpose of purchasing lands for the public benefit of the church, and building houses of worship, and building up of the New Jerusalem which is hereafter to be revealed—

36 That my covenant people may be gathered in one in that day when I shall come to my temple. And this I do for the salvation of my people.

37 And it shall come to pass, that he that sinneth and repenteth not shall be cast out of the church, and shall not receive again that which he has consecrated unto the poor and the needy of my church, or in other words, unto me—

38 For inasmuch as ye do it unto the least of these, ye do it unto me.

39 For it shall come to pass, that which I spake by the mouths of my prophets shall be fulfilled; for I will consecrate of the riches of those who embrace my gospel among the Gentiles unto the poor of my people who are of the house of Israel.

Again, it is we the members that are supposed to take care of the poor. And note what verse 35 says. For the purpose of purchasing lands for the public benefit of the church. Sounds to me like malls and such could fit into this as a public benefit of the church.

freedomforall,

When the faithful Saints have given over $40,000,000,000.00 and growing donated substance from their Tithes and Offerings it then becomes the responsibility of the Twelve and Seventy Shepherds.

The Book of Enoch the Prophet says they will destroy all the blind sheep along with themselves, and both be judged, found guilty, and thrust into the fiery abyss.

Do you desire to see this happen?

I would hope not.

Wherefore did the very Eternal Father in Heaven give the great and wonderful "if" written and promised in third Nephi.

And Wherefore has he said to Joel to say to us to weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion that perhaps the old men and administers of the law of God might just awaken and give ear.

The book of Enoch first, the book of Joel next, and 3rd Nephi thereafter.

The order of these things revealed shows intent to save from the fiery abyss if possible for any serious students of the words of God.

The robbery of God is well known in the book of Malachi that there is to be meat in his house from the Tithes and Offerings given.

He is not talking about the temple but that inasmuch as ye impart of houses and meat unto the poor, you have given it unto him.

This will be manifested at the judgment bar of Christ.

Good for his true diciples to manifest this now.

Awaken the old men and administers of the law of God as commanded and said.

Marvel not you that Moroni came back 4 distinct separate times in less than 24 hours to repeat the same exact message of the words of Joel were not just yet but soon to be upon us all?

Who today can testify of being visited all night long in person as well as again during the bright light of the day as this testimony of Joseph Smith?

This has to be one of the most powerful testimony given that I have ever read.

Good to know what was said. ♡ :)

The scriptures have corroborated my point of view. My point of viw comes from scripture. The scriptures have spoken. If we do not believe them that is on us. I suggest reading them more closely for in them lies the truth. It is the saints that are to feed the poor..God's words to us. D&C 42:30,31,34 and 39 It's rather clear info.

Q&A: Questions and Answers
Answers are for help and perspective, not as pronouncements of Church doctrine

“Will the righteous members of the Church be asked to live the law of consecration?”

Answer/President Marion G. Romney, New Era
I have been asked to respond to the question, “Will the righteous members of the Church be asked to live the law of consecration?”
I shall make my response in light of the following three premises that I accept as ultimate truth.
1. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the divine program for bringing mortals back into the presence of God where they can enjoy eternal life.
2. The Church is the organization through which its members put into practice the principles and teachings of the gospel.
3. Foremost among gospel teachings is unity. “I say unto you, be one; and if ye are not one ye are not mine.” (D&C 38:27.)
The law of consecration, and the united order revealed by the Lord as the means for implementing the law of consecration, are set out in sections 42 and 51 of the Doctrine and Covenants.
The law requires “that one transfer and convey to the Bishop, … ‘by a covenant and a deed which cannot be broken,’ (D&C 42:30; D&C 58:35, 36) all his property.” (Albert E. Bowen, The Church Welfare Plan, p. 7.)
“[And] that the bishop, … shall forthwith reconvey to the donor ‘as much as is sufficient for himself and family’ (D&C 42:32), each ‘according to his family, according to his circumstances and his wants and his needs’ (D&C 51:3), ‘inasmuch as his wants are just.’ (D&C 82:17.)
“That which is reconveyed to the donor is variously called a ‘stewardship,’ a ‘portion’ or an ‘inheritance’ (D&C 51:4; D&C 70:3, 9; D&C 82:17; D&C 42:32; D&C 72:3; D&C 104:11; D&C 57:11, 15).” (Bowen, p. 8.)
The scriptures speak of several occasions on which the law of consecration in some form has been implemented.
The first was in the days of Enoch when “the Lord came and dwelt with his people, and they dwelt in righteousness.
“And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.” (Moses 7:16, 18.)
Another occasion occurred among the Nephites immediately following the ministry among them of the resurrected Christ, concerning whom the record says:
“And it came to pass in the thirty and sixth year, the people were all converted unto the Lord, upon all the face of the land, both Nephites and Lamanites, and there were no contentions and disputations among them, and every man did deal justly one with another.
“And they had all things common among them; therefore there were not rich and poor, bond and free, but they were all made free, and partakers of the heavenly gift.
“And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.” (4 Ne. 1:2–3, 15.)
The Saints who went to Missouri in the early 1830s were commissioned to live the law of consecration, but they failed to do so.
In 1834 when they were being attacked by mobs and driven from their homes, Joseph Smith led a “party known as Zion’s Camp, bringing clothing and provisions. While this party was encamped on Fishing River the Prophet received [a] revelation” (D&C 105 headnote) which began:
“Verily I say unto you who have assembled yourselves together that you may learn my will concerning the redemption of mine afflicted people—
“Behold, I say unto you, were it not for the transgressions of my people, … they might have been redeemed even now.
“But behold, they have not learned to be obedient to the things which I required at their hands, but are full of all manner of evil, and do not impart of their substance, as becometh saints, to the poor and afflicted among them;
“And are not united according to the union required by the law of the celestial kingdom;
“And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself.” (D&C 105:1–5.)
Since this revelation was received, Church members have not been required to live the law of consecration. There were, however, a few short-lived attempts to establish united order communities in the West.
In the 1930s our present welfare program, which embodies some phases of the law of consecration, was inaugurated.
As to the question, “Will the righteous members of the Church be asked to live the law of consecration?”—my answer is yes. I believe that the righteous members of the Church will, in time, become “united according to the union required by the law of the celestial kingdom” and that the law of consecration will be lived by them during the Millennium.

I'm not talking about just feeding the poor and giving them clothing, I am talking about giving them all homes as well as for food and for raiment as the gospel requires, first and foremost before even one penny is spent on the purchasing of lands or the building of buildings for worshipping God period.

This has been gone a whoring away from after idols.

This needs to cease.

Ephraim needs to say,

"What have I to do anymore with idols?"

And finally put covenants and deeds that cannot be broken into the hands of the poor Saints sufficient for the support of their families period, from the consecrated Tithes and Offerings given of the faithful Saints.

Make no mistake about what I have said.

This needs to be done with broken hearts and contrite spirits atoning for going a whoring away after idols period.

Just as is written in the Scriptures. ♡ :)

Only when we are living the United Order. The law of consecration will be in full effect. There will be no rich or poor...all will be equal. Right now we are to have charity and give of our substance but we are not expected to live the United Order as yet. either way, it isn't church headquarters that will be expected to give, it will still be the members. Those who give charitably now get mighty blessings. That which goes around, comes around.
To live the United Order now is unrealistic at best. This does not mean that people can't show charity in a large degree. To force the rich to give to the poor is New World Order tactics, it takes from the haves and gives it to the have nots. Whereas the United Order is where people give to the poor out of charity, not force or legalized plunder.

Who told you you did not have to live the celestial law?

The Twelve and Seventy Shepherds.

Read The Book of Enoch the Prophet.

There is good reason Joseph Smith said this book would be testified of in due time.

I testify that The Book of Enoch the Prophet has the truth written in it.

He testifies that the Twelve and Seventy Shepherds destroy all the blind sheep, and they both, will be judged, found guilty and thrust into the fiery abyss.

This was a vision given to Enoch of the latter days.

Couple the testimony of the very Eternal Father in Heaven to Jesus Christ in 3rd Nephi about our day and Hosea and Zenos and Micah and Malachi and Jeremiah and Moroni and Joel and Isaiah and Mormon and Enoch and Joseph Smith of the direction of Jesus Christ in the Doctrine and Covenants and you will see no one has excused you nor the Twelve and Seventy Shepherds from keeping the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

So that is why I weep and howl and sound the alarm and blow the trumpet in Zion about these things and the perversion of the words of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ never said you are excused from this law only that because of transgression, Zion could be redeemed even now, so go and have experience imparting as the gospel requires, and the gospel requires covenants and deeds that cannot be broken be put into the hands of the poor Saints sufficient for the support of their families from the consecrated Tithes and Offerings without any grudgingly behavior.

So do not say we are not required at this time, for that is false doctrine, taught to you by these Twelve and Seventy Shepherds that destroy all the blind sheep along with themselves.

Search the Scriptures written of these things to see if what I tell you is not indeed true.

For I am a direct decendant of Manasseh through Lehi's decendants of Massasoit who sat at the first thanksgiving table with the pilgrims.

Fourteen generations have passed and sometimes great things happen every fourteen generations as is written in the book of Matthew 1:17.

I am able to see not blinded as the other sheep and able to tread down and tear in pieces all false doctrine as a gift given unto me of the blessings of the fathers.

This not to scatter but to gather the people of Ephraim and Judah finally together to serve idols no longer but God alone as one nation under God, keeping his commandments which he has given them. Tzedakah and the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ which teaches you how to treat the poor among us giving inheritances of stewardships of covenants and deeds that cannot be broken into the hands of the poor, sufficient for the support of their families from the consecrated Tithes and Offerings without any grudgingly behavior.

That they learn to set up the poor to be self sustaining and self sufficient is the higher law given of God.

So do, that it may be well for you, and weep and howl and sound the alarm in church to let the old men and administers of the law of God awaken to these things as God has said.

You will be everlastingly glad you did. ♡ :)

Get your book reports done on all the words of Jesus Christ of all the things Jesus Christ has said to do, and all the ways Jesus Christ has said to be like, and all the things Jesus Christ has said to know.

Memorize all his words becoming submerged completely without a toe sticking out of his words you do not know.

And live the words of Jesus Christ perfectly. ♡ :)

What do you think Doctrine and Covenants 42 and 70 say?

None are exempt from this law who belong to the church of the living God; In your temporal things you shall be equal and this not grudgingly, for food and for raiment, for houses and for lands, in whatsoever circumstances the Lord places you.

And the poor Saints are to be given covenants and deeds that cannot be broken into their hands sufficient for the support of their families from the consecrated Tithes and Offerings before one penny of residue is used for purchasing lands and to build buildings for worshipping God.

Take those two sections to any law firm and ask if I have told you the truth of those two sections.

You will see that it is the law given to the Church of God given to his beloved son Jesus Christ to give to us. ♡ :)

I did not write The Scriptures written that testify of what I tell you.

You go before Jesus Christ at his judgment bar and say Lucifer is the one that said to just give and not make people work for what they get correct?

See what Jesus Christ has to say to you.

Awaken before it is everlastingly too late.

Please. Give and open your hand wide unto those who are poor and needy among us liberally as God has commanded, for food and for raiment, for houses and for lands, in whatsoever circumstances the Lord places you.

You will be everlastingly glad you did. ♡ :)

I think that all the scriptures need to be read and considered. Giving to others by force is not God's way, period. For those wanting to live in Zion, they will give to the poor willingly. Strait is the gate and narrow is the way to everlasting life, and few there be that find it.
