I 'see' a difference between Doctrine & Covenants 42 and in Acts 4.Doctrine & Covenants 42
1 Hearken, O ye elders of my church, who have assembled yourselves together in my name, even Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, the Savior of the world; inasmuch as ye believe on my name and keep my commandments.
2 Again I say unto you, hearken and hear and obey the law which I shall give unto you.
3 For verily I say, as ye have assembled yourselves together according to the commandment wherewith I commanded you, and are agreed as touching this one thing, and have asked the Father in my name, even so ye shall receive.
39...for I will consecrate of the riches of those who embrace my gospel among the Gentiles unto the poor of my people who are of the house of Israel.
In Doctrine & Covenants 42, The LORD speaks to 'ye elders of the church' who have assembled in His name, are 'keeping His commandments, and are asking for & willing to obey His higher LAW.
In verse 39, The LORD identifies those who embrace my gospel among the Gentiles as being the SOURCE of riches HE will consecrate unto the poor of my people who are of the house of Israel.
In Acts 4, those who are converted and sanctified by the Holy Ghost spake the word of God with boldness, were of one heart and one soul, laying down their riches at the apostles’ feet WITHOUT being commanded to do so by The LORD...
Not only that," with great power [the multitude of them that believed] gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus".
The Converts in Christ found in Acts 4 are Covenant Israel.Acts 4
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
I believe the 'Restored Church' as we now know it, is the Gentile church. We are 'provisionally accepted' based upon our WORKS.
Best not to be overly confident in The LORD's sight!
