Then no. It's never ok.

One of my pet peeves are narks.
Blackmail is like bullying by threatening tattling.
Yet, there's wisdom in the approach to never say or do anything that you wouldn't want broadcast over the news.

Had to look that one up:
Nark
(nark can also be spelled narc or narq)
1: To be a nark is to be someone that will report any misbehaving to a higher authority like the police, parents and teachers.
2: To nark, or to nark someone out is the action of reporting the misbehavior; also called narking.
3: To be narked is, obviously, the past tense of narking.
1: The other day I was taking some snoops and that nark ratted out on me!
2: I am so going to nark him for smoking that weed.
3: That &!@$# narked me out the other day for smoking the weed!

By "nark" I meant someone who reports every possible negative aspect they see, often hypocritically and lacking their own intrapersonal accountability.
When blame is shifted, repeatedly, that is the essence of evil, IMO.

Wow. Four years ago this thread was started. When I saw it, I wondered if it was about me. I read the op and thought, nah, I'm not doing that. But knowing Daryl's tendency to read way more into things than is there, I wasn't entirely sure he wasn't referring to me. So I entertained myself for a while here flirting with the insinuations. Later, during a brief moment when Daryl and I were on speaking terms again, I asked him and he confirmed that this was a cloaked message to me. So Bee was right about there being ulterior motives though I don't think she guessed what they were.
While I was interacting here back then, the spirit whispered that I was naming my own punishment, you know, like in the Bible, in Esther I think, where some guy said that punishment for a certain criminal should be a torturous death only to find out he was the criminal. What was my punishment I was naming? Standing up to whoever is blackmailing you, facing the music, and moving past it all.
For some reason, I felt inclined to look up this thread today. Without going into tedious details, the prompting I had is being fulfilled right now. It's not fun to go through but it's liberating. In all honesty, I kind of thought I knew it all when I posted here before but I had so much more to learn. Onward and upward.
