That would be true for me too. In my case, it would have been because he had gotten me an ancient vacuum out of the dumpster that he just couldn't believe someone had thrown away and expected me to be delighted with it.

And how is that a problem again? You know if you'd lower your expectations you wouldn't be so disappointed. :)
Tell you what, you ask your wife how that is a problem, and however she responds I'll accept as my answer as well.

But warn me first. I might want to come over to your place and bring popcorn.

You aren't suggesting a wife swap are you? I thought that was only a Draper Mormon thing.
I feel so naive. That really is a thing in Draper?
I can't make this stuff up.

Holy Cow! I've been reading the comments (had to go to the way-back machine to get them) and those who oppose swinging are rude, mean, nasty, judgmental, and about as far from Christlike as it seems they could be. A person can disagree without being mean and nasty.

Not interested in it in the least. I'll wait to see the new Terminator, Jurassic Park and Star Wars movies this year. ;)
There's a new Star Wars movie coming out? =P~

So, I finally got around to watching your preview. Did he say, "The dark side has resigned?!"

You missed the Lord of the Rings conversation I had with someone a year or so ago. In fact, he actually convinced me to watch it, which I did in one night! Jules kept telling us to make a new thread (we had highjacked some topic or other) and finally, she started a new thread for us. :))

I think the first three movies were great! The next one, which went back to Anakin's boyhood was okay. Got icky after that, but that's because it was the story of how Anakin became a "Lord of the Sith." The first three (which fit in the middle, chronologically) were about Darth Vader's redemption, and the next three (which fit at the beginning) were about Anakin's fall - so said the man who wrote them.

Really, you shouldn't entice me like this. O:-)

I think that while George Lucas was winging it the entire time he made Star Wars, he had an outline written. When it became more popular than he could have imagined, he used the story to give us all a lesson. The first trilogy was classic good vs evil. The prequels were different. He turned them into an allegory.

In the interview I saw-heard/read (I honestly don't remember which), he said he had written the stories. I guess you could say an outline. He only wrote one in depth. When it was more successful than he ever imagined, he wrote the other two parts.

I understand he was getting burned out by the time the prequel came along, and didn't want to write the last trilogy he had in mind, but he had definite plots in mind for all three stories (which were each, of course, subdivided into three more).

If one does not understand Carl Jung's insights in archetypes there is no way one can understand Star Wars as it was written based on the adventure of the hero.

Expound on this, please. For example, what are his insights into archetypes?
