Give them a lesson on temporal preparedness. They probably won't see that coming.

You have prolly already picked your topic. If the bish allowed me to speak & I got to choose my topic, this is what I would base my talk on:
Joseph Smith said: "A man is saved no faster than he gets knowledge, for if does not get knowledge, he will be brought into captivity by some evil power in the other world, as evil spirits will have more knowledge, and consequently more power than many men who are on the earth. Hence it needs revelation to assist us, and give us knowledge of the things of God." (TPJS, p. 217)
We equate in large measure, repentance, with whatever it is you're doing with your genitals. Joseph equates redemption and repentance with whatever it is you're doing with your heart and with your mind. The problem we must overcome to obtain salvation is our profound ignorance. And what the gospel offers defies ignorance, subdues it, challenges it, destroys it, and leaves it in the dark. So let's try and search into, and obtain some illumination.

One talk I've been interested in giving would be titled "living by every word which proceedeth from the mouth of god".
In it, I would
1)argue against the common practice of dismissing much of the old testament
2)argue against the common practice of ignoring teachings, such as sabbath observance, media selectiveness
3)state that I don't believe in legalism, but that I do believe in each person finding meaning in all scripture and all commandments
4)state that being happy is important, and that if we use the multitude of God's word to make ourselves or other people unhappy, or become overly judgmental, we've got to seriously repent
5)state that one result of genuine nearness to god and his words, is a tendancy toward happiness.

I know. Could also be the reaction of most of the congregation if she goes that route.

I think a talk on the Savior would be wonderful...and how we are to follow his teachings to create a Zion in our homes...in our Wards...in our Stakes and communities. In the final analysis, Muerta...you pick something you are comfortable with...something you will be able to teach in simplicity so that all who hear you will understand. ( I think we should all know what Ward and what time and show up to support her!)

You can read how the words of Jesus act in stirring up hatred among the religious elite, and the potential outcome. Do you love Muerte so little?

I've said it many times, that my ward is not like many of yours. We are very Jesus centered in our ward and i dare say stake. Seriously. Like after i joined this forum and heard some of you guys yammering on and on about no focus on Jesus i paid attention to see if that applied to my ward. And it's Jesus all day long.

So my ward would not be surprised.
Those of you who complain about this..I'm sorry your ward sucks. But mine doesn't and there are TONS of others that don't suck either. So get over yourselves.[/quote]
I did the same in my ward Muerte a few months ago and found that we are always talking about the Savior...His importance in our lives...and how we should strive to be more like Him.

I wonder how your wards would react if you got up in sacrament and testified of having been received by the Lord - like they used to do in sacrament.

I think that if ((I)) were to get up and say that...I'd get laughed off the stage.
Well that is sad, and exactly my point. If you ever come and tell me you have seen the Lord Muerte, I promise I will praise God WITH you.

It was a joke Jules lol one that went right over your head. I said if (((I))) (((((ME))))) said that i would get laughed off. Not because of WHAT was said but because of WHO said it lol. I'm sort of a naughty person..... :ymblushing:
No it didn't go over my head; I just see you differently than you see yourself - even if many of your posts annoy me ;).
I'm pretty sure Alma the Younger was naughtier than you. King Lamoni probably was too, among others.
