Would be great to see this place shut down permanently...

Five years ago, Utah government computer systems faced 25,000 to 30,000 attempted cyberattacks every day.
At the time, Utah Public Safety Commissioner Keith Squires thought that was massive. "But this last year we have had spikes of over 300 million attacks against the state databases" each day: a 10,000-fold increase.
Why? Squires says it is probably because Utah is home to the new, secretive National Security Agency computer center, and hackers believe they can somehow get to it through state computer systems.
Or maybe it's because some people know it's for domestic spying and data collection on U.S. government dissenters and only in existence thanks to the fraud of 9/11.

I guess since the headline says that up to 300 million cyberattacks per day MAY be aimed at the NSA facility, the first question I'd ask is what constitutes a cyber attack? And then I'd ask what's a typical number of cyberattacks on ANY large government facility -- or non-government facility for that matter. Until I knew those answers, I'd be reluctant to draw any big conclusions about that particular facility.

Here is one conclusion about that facility. It comes from the following interview: The Future of Freedom: A Feature Interview with NSA Whistleblower William Binney (2015), located at:
http://911blogger.com/news/2015-01-23/f ... inney-2015" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
Here is an introduction of Binney indicating his intense involvement with the NSA, and just why you might want to pay attention to what he says and claims:
SUMMARY:
A 36-year veteran of America’s Intelligence Community, William Binney resigned from his position as Director for Global Communications Intelligence (COMINT) at the National Security Agency (NSA) and blew the whistle, after discovering that his efforts to protect the privacy and security of Americans were being undermined by those above him in the chain of command.
The NSA data-monitoring program which Binney and his team had developed — code named ThinThread — was being aimed not at foreign targets as intended, but at Americans (code named as Stellar Wind) was destroying privacy here and around the world. Binney voices his call to action for the billions of individuals whose rights are currently being violated.
William Binney speaks out in this feature-length interview with Tragedy and Hope’s Richard Grove, focused on the topic of the ever-growing Surveillance State in America.

Incidentally, he recently came on board 9/11 scientific truth by joining and signing the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 truth petition.
His comments regarding the Bluffdale, Utah facility are embedded probably in the last half of the > 2 1/2 hour interview linked above.
What he said is that the Bluffdale facility is orders of magnitude (my wording) larger than what you would need to store all the metadata in the world (i.e., essentially the who, where, and when information of any electronic communication in the world); implying that it was designed to store the actual CONTENT of all the electronic communications of the world.
Who do we have to honor for bringing this rather ominous facility into the midst of Zion??? Why our good Senator Orin Hatch! What a good turn he has done in trying to bring Federal jobs to Utah! Not. If I were an enemy, this site would be a premier target. And of course, we aren't event talking about the supreme irony of Zion Utah hosting the most massive surveillance storage facility in the world.
Could this taint our claim of moving toward a world-wide righteous Zion a tad? Could this add fuel to the growing number of people who are starting to conflate the aims of the LDS Church as a tandem operation in the move to a 'New World Order', run by the monied elites?
Anyway, I think Brigham would roll over in his grave at this development; and I'm certain he and his Brethren are totally dismayed looking on from a higher vantage point.

Let's see, now - where will the Temple-complex in the New Jerusalem be built?
Perhaps above we see an added reason why NJ will NOT be built in Utah!

Good point. I'm getting a real uneasy feeling about living even with 50 miles of Bluffdale.

You're welcome out here, Larsenb.
Incidentally, a very nice country setting with farmland, forests (with deer), and multiple dwellings is available - LDS friends in our branch are selling it (health reasons, largely); intro video here:

They say the price is negotiable -- yep, they've emphasized that to me... Looking for basically any offer at this point... They have a daughter in rural Oregon with a large home, wish to move back there as he's had some major health woes...

Wow! Impressive . . and the price looks good. Unfortunately, for me, my wife has lived in FLA . . where most of her family has migrated from the eastern mid-West (Indiana). They LOVE warm weather.
Even as a concession to her for living where we do, I was obligated to include a garden room where she has planted two citrus trees (valenica and tangerine), which even now have ripe fruit on them. We just replaced the skylights.
However, I will pass the link on to a friend of mine in Calif., who may be getting claustrophobic and yantzie on his 7 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. And he certainly has the wherewithall to pick up such a place.
The video following the one you linked has some wonderful music, advertising a place in GA.

Thanks for passing that info along, larsenb. These are good friends, seeking to get with family, but having developed quite the refuge spot, IMO. True, the winters get cold at times here. Last few days very nice though, sunny and dry, around 45-60 degF. I like that it warms up between cold spells (which cold times get rid of insects).

There are many people in the intelligence community, like Mr. Binney, who share his concerns. Yes, these facilities would have to have bull's eyes on them should the spectre of a foreign air attack ever become a reality. And of course "data" are very small, even "metadata." So the massive size of these installations seems unnecessary.
And then there's the point that you acquire important information about in-country terrorists' plans through the mining of said data, wherever it's housed, which can enable you to interrupt those terrorists' plans before they go live. It's likely it's done that already.
It's a horrible tightrope we're walking. Weapons-grade prayer is in order.
