I really like this part
What is a "Day?"

Let's jump back to the Six Days of Genesis. First of all, we now know that when the Biblical calendar says 5700-plus years, we must add to that "plus six days." . . . .

Because from erev to boker is a flow from disorder to order, from chaos to cosmos. That's something any scientist will testify never happens in an unguided system. Order never arises from disorder spontaneously and remains orderly. Order always degrades to chaos unless the environment recognizes the order and locks it in to preserve it. There must be a guide to the system. That's an unequivocal statement.

The Torah wants us to be amazed by this flow, starting from a chaotic plasma and ending up with a symphony of life. Day-by-day the world progresses to higher and higher levels. Order out of disorder. It's pure thermodynamics. And it's stated in terminology of 3000 years ago.
Fascinating article, MR. Thanks.

"Order always degrades to chaos" of course is covered by the term and concept of entropy. And where there is a "flow from disorder to order, from chaos to cosmos", you have what Buckminster Fuller calls syntropy, which, I believe is a word he coined. And Fuller may have gone further, I can't remember the exact article where he talks about this, that syntropy can only happen with intelligent guidance; recognized from your article by: [syntropy] "never happens in an unguided system".

This fits the idea that quantum collapse phenomena originate from non-localized space, which may be analogous to the timeless realm of the Spirit or 'universal consciousness'.

Even Daniel Peterson is hinting at this growing bandwagon, where in his latest article in Mormon Times says:
"Quantum mechanics strongly suggests that the consciousness of observers is vital to the very existence of the physical event being observed and that mental events can and do affect the physical universe. . . . . Perhaps the fundamental assertion of the new "post-materialist science" for which the authors and signers of the Manifesto [Manifesto for a Post-Materialist Science - online at opensciences.org] call is this: "Mind represents an aspect of reality as primordial as the physical world. Mind is fundamental in the universe, i.e., it cannot be derived from matter and reduced to anything more basic."
Having worked in science most of my working career, this realization has really helped me stave off the pressure coming from my strong tendency towards scientific reductionism . . . or better, reductionist science or a reductionist worldview.
