Hi, my name is Autumn, I'm 26, and I live in the south. I met my husband at BYU on a blind date, I spent three years teaching Special Ed, and now I'm in grad school studying Teaching English as a Second language. We have no children as of yet.
Recently, I started using Reddit a lot and then found that I didn't like all of the cusswords etc. on the board. I like that I don't have to worry about inappropriate content on these boards even if I don't always agree with things posted. I look forward to contributing to the community!

Welcome, Autumn! I heard of Reddit but never used it. I've cut back on Facebook to just a few minutes to check up on messages from family/friends. I don't even use email anymore. Hope you enjoy it here. We're a diverse bunch, but we have fun.

How do to manage not to use email? I have had to use email in every one of my church or professional capacities. I keep Facebook because we have a Facebook group that gives me most of my ward announcements!
I think there are really good uses for social media, they just need moderation.

Welcome Fallspice.
Yeah, I'd agree that moderation in all good things is good.
I've also found when I'm more balanced and less addicted to being online, the spirit helps me more.

@thinker - I completely agree! It is a constant balancing act.
Hi BroJones! I taught special ed for 3 years. Sometimes I had over 20 emails+ in my box I had to respond to from parents, my administrators, etc. daily. Being a grad student, I don't get that many pressing emails now, but I have a Professor that likes to add sometimes 2 or 3 addendums to his lecture. Even our visiting teaching reporting is through email.
I look forward to getting to know y'all better through your posts and in the forum!

What kinds of things do you not agree with? Are we too liberal, too conservative, too TBM or just too nuts?

Being a part of a community doesn't mean exclusively agreeing with everything posted. I think I wrote this intro after reading a post I really didn't agree with. I've read through so many now though now that I don't even remember what it was about. I have enjoyed that this forum has made me get out scriptures and church talks to help me figure out what I think.
