Can I borrow your testamony?

I need your help. Can a few of you please bare your good testimony's for me. I want to borrow them.
I got a call to do something Sunday that will involve barring my testimony at the end. The problem is I have no testimony to offer. The ones on youtube will make me sound like a fake, and i am no apostle. I can only think of stuff like "I know the church is true" or "I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet.". That's sounds like something I said when I was 5. And people may begin to suspect me as an outsider. As many of you know I will have to fake my way through Sunday lesson. But my goal is not to deceive for evil reasons but to avoid a lynch mob and not let down those who may be looking up to me. There is group I am honest with and that's you. Can you help me?

Tell the truth.

What are your belives? What keeps you going back to church? Why do you get on here? Do you belive in a higher power? If so what would you call that higher power?
What keeps you wanting to better yourself? What are some truth that you know? They can be any truth that has caused a growth in your life.

Don't say something that is not a truth for you. truth is truth. Even if you don't think others will enjoy it.

Your not barring your testimony for them. You saying it to God shamelessly with others preasent.

I agree with Ezra. You don't have to know everything. You don't even have to know a lot. Simple things. Here are some questions that might help you decide what you know and maybe cause you to ask more questions, the answers to which you might already have.

-Do you know who Jesus Christ is?
-Do you know if He loves you?
-Do you know what He did for us?
-Do you believe all or some of His words?
-Do you believe the Book of Mormon is scripture?
-Do you believe anything in the Book of Mormon that you've read?
-Do you believe the gospel brings us peace or happiness or other good things?

The first thing you can share is that you don't know all things. You can tell them you are still learning. Most members don't know a lot of the basics. But they will be able to tell whether or not you believe what you are sharing. So even if you share one or two beliefs, that is ok.

Bear your testimony about general principles- the power of love, human goodness, kindness, respect, positive thinking, etc. If you want to believe something, you could say that. I think people would respect you for it. If you are teaching about apostles (I think that's what this week's lesson is about, yeah?), you can say "I believe they are good men."

I seldom even use the words "I know" in a testimony and people take it just fine.

Don't feel like you need to testify of something you don't believe. Just find something you do believe in.

So many questions. Ok hears the answers in order.
most of the time nothing.
I want to keep my family happy and together.
To learn from you.
Not all the time.
I'm doing ok now.
I don't think Darwin lied to us. Science is true. I embrace it not reject it.
You have no ideal whose in the audience at my church. It can be very bad for me and my family.

Be honest; It would be refreshing. It might also help others (especially those looking up to you) to know that they are not alone in that particular struggle; that it's OK for someone they look up to, to be human. It might also inspire others to be just as honest, and realize the difference between a thanktimony, and a testimony that the Savior lives because they have received Him them-self.

"I would be remiss if I didn't get up and bear my testimony today.

I know the church is true.

I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet.

I love the Book of Mormon.

I love the bishop. He is so spirichul.

I love my family soooo much (sob).

If I've offended anyone here, I'm sorry.

Nobody will bat an eye.

it sounded like a start and a finish. I think you could get it all out in 15 seconds or less.

I know we are not alone in this life. I have felt the love of God many times in my life. I have been directed in ways that cannot be explained by earthly means. I feel as though the Lord Jesus Christ has always been near me, no matter how awful I've screwed up.

I could get up in testimony meeting and say those things without stirring up trouble. My daughter got up one Fast Sunday and told a story about her kitten and ended it with, "I know love is not just a feeling. It can protect us." Made the ladies tear up.

It's an awesome feeling when you can tell the truth in complete sincerity, move the hearts of others, and not offend anybody doing so. That's a rare thing for me. I usually offend people. :D But when I can pull it off, it's incredible.

I wished I could have someone like you in my family. Just reading earlier about your husband and what he did to you really gets me. Thanks
