I haven't shaved in a couple of months. I should post a pic and show you all what a patchy beard look like when you grow it out. :ymsmug:

You give me hope that maybe, someday, I might not just be "patchy", but have a noble beard.

Funny how beards are popular and in style now. The metrosexual fad had men clean cut for quite a while there and now the fashion industry is saying the lumberjack look (plaid shirts and boots) go along with the beard and man bun - long hair in a loose bun.

I have a hard time with grown men not having facial hair. It looks so wrong.

I saw somewhere that BYU students are lobbying for beards to be allowed on campus.

I was floored when someone told me in order to "legally" have a beard at BYU you have to have a "beard card". =))

Now I want to enroll just so I can get a beard ticket.

They're difficult to get. At least they were when I went there. You have to have some sort of medical condition that they (whoever "they" are) think justifies the scruff.

The act like you're trying to pull some kind of workers comp fraud or something.

My brother in law had one for the 2-3 years after his mission because he has really sensitive skin and shaving tears up his face. He told me everytime he went in to get one he felt like he was being interrogated. This past semester (his last) they denied him. For 3 years it was okay. The last semester...no go.

I saw on the news or somewhere that some get a card because they are involved in some lds.org videos where they are actors or extras in Biblical productions so they need to have beards. The whole no beards thing is stupid and Pharisaical. To think that when I returned from my mission, I wanted to attend BYU. :ymsick:

I know you have a hard time with truth, especially coming from Steve, jbalm, Obrien or myself. Ask anyone that's gone to BYzoo. They will set you straight. :ymhug:

Edit: I felt pink needed a hug.

This is true too. My FiL went to law school there. Every year one of his classmates got a beard card because he was in some play on campus that required he grow a beard.

No doubt. I've seen some of the cankles in my wards relief society. I understand why the BYU-I Pres. requires they be covered up. The brethren need to institute cankle card interviews as a requirement for RS sisters to where anything other than a dress. It will protect us all.

Fine with me as long as you keep 'em to yourself. :p You don't see any of the priesthood brethren showing off their cankles do you?

I don't have cankles...but just don't look.
Once you've seen them it's easy not to look. The problem lies in "un-seeing" them. :ymsick:

I can't imagine how stressful it must be for all the Americans to be so afraid of offending that they spend all day saying things they do not mean.

It is of course your privilege to feel like punching me in the face. But it is my privilege to be honest, straightforward, and to say what I mean and mean what I say, hopefully without the fear of being threatened with physical violence.
The threat of physical violence wasn't serious. There is a poll (all in fun) titled "If I could punch one person in the face...". Those who have the highest number of votes are those who are the most blunt on this forum, those who tend to offend people by their strong opinions or sarcasm. Your disgust for beards seemed like it might get a few men riled up. I thought maybe you could give brlenox or Muerta Rosa a run for their money.
