Wanted to introduce myself here. Lifetime LDS member, living in Texas. Looks like there's some interesting discussions on this site, thought I'd join in. Though I usually wind up just lurking.

I lurked for years. Don't start posting...it's somewhat addictive. It should probably be addressed in the next General Conference in a WoW talk.
eta - oh yeah, welcome

h_p, tread carefully. This is not an easy place for a TBM.

ajax: central TX area
kathyn: what's a TBM? "Tactical Ballistic Missile"?

Google isn't helping me much here...
And thanks for the welcomes.

WOW h_p, you got it first time!
Like Bro Jones said above, TBM = True Blue Mormon. It also can mean Traditional Believing Mormon, True Believing Mormon or Total Butthead Mormon. Kathyn is right - there's all kinds here.

I like to think "True Blue Mormon" means accepting truth wherever it's found. So I'm not really afraid of what I've been reading here so far.

Don't be too disappointed if your base assumption is proven to be a bit flawed. Many TBMs can accept any truth as long as it's found in the LDS church or is stated by a current PSR. Outside of those paradigms, many fly to pieces like glass...

And on the other hand, I've seen that a lot of people have a hard time accepting truth when it comes through the boring old traditional channels.

Enjoy. ♡
Look to the words of Jesus Christ through the ""One Stick" given unto Ephraim and his invited guests of how many of the boring old traditions of Ephraim have gone away from the celestial law given of God of how to be equal in your temporal things and this not grudgingly by giving covenants and deeds that cannot be broken into the hands of the poor Saints sufficient for the support of their families from the consecrated assets given of the faithful Saints.
Yes Ephraim shall go a whoring away from the greater things of his law it is written, and thus that the Scriptures written be fulfilled of every whit so it is.
But it is also written that in the time after this has been accomplished, Ephraim shall repent and return unto the Lord saying "What have I to do anymore with idols?" And finally fullfill in righteousness his calling and election given of God. ♡
