I am vaguely familiar with this sister having had someone send me another recording of her. I don't mean to be harsh or judgemental as I do not know her personally but I am very leery of those who go around speaking to groups of like minded people saying that they have some special spiritual gift or connection with the spirit world and can give others insights from beyond. I really think that the church would discourage these types of meetings but I am open to correction here. It just doesn't seem to follow a correct line of stewardship and proper protocol. Is she selling books or tapes in these settings?

Where did this come from? Who is this speaking? Does the church have a problem with her? Thanks, Abby

If this has any connection with Sterling Allan who apparently runs the website you listed I would run the other way. He was a very outspoken critic of the church leadership back in the 90's and was exed as far as I understand. He may have repented as I have not kept up with him but if not he is trouble with a capital T. Buyer beware.

So Mullenite,
Do you believe this woman? Can she really know who the anti-Christ is? I thought there were a bunch of people who would be considered this. You know, on Glenn Beck he was talking about a man in IRAN I believe who was wanting to get his hands on a nuc bomb so that he could start the 2nd coming..

Glenn Beck, now theres a trustworthy non deceived news person

Try Lou Dobbs, followed by The Colbert Report (to lighten up your mood).

NO! I don't believe the lecture is all correct; but much cheaper than going to a horror movie.

Hi guys-
I have met a lot of these folks. They are from the Manti Ut area.
Most support the church, the Prophet and Apostles.
Sterling Allan doesn't.
You might want to Google:
Denise Mendenhall
Sarah Menet
Doug Mendenhall
Denise and Sarah had beautiful NDEs and met the Savior.
GBH has stated that Joel Chap 2 has occured already, where "God's Spirit will be poured out on all flesh". The veil has became thinner and gifts of the Spirit will increase to those that are in tune with the Spirit as the 2nd coming approaches. One always has to realize if it happens, realize it's for you and youre not to suppose to start your own church and apostatise.
As a church we do believe in the 2nd Comforter, that Christ can visit members personally. Of course it won't come easily and it isn't like asking for a combo meal at your local Burger King. You have to be absolutely worthy and it has to be according to God's Will etc.
A good book to read re this by an active member is :

That's all I have now.
God Bless,

Having observed from the sidelines some of the stuff coming out of those who have had these near death experiences and those who put on seminars about spiritual gifts they say that they possess does at times make me feel just a bit uneasy. For example people have referred me to other LDS oriented boards like that of Doc Hansens where a lot of these people frequent and advertise their various meetings and seminars. These people continue to forecast terrible events that they say will occur shortly because of visitations from beyond the veil that they are apparently having from their spiritual advisors in the spirit world.
I remember reading something from Heber C Kimball and he said that righteous spirits beyond the veil are far to busy in their work there to be frequenting us mortals to give us juicy tidbits about end times stuff. He also said that spiritual experiences are very personal in nature and if we start blabbing to the world of these personal experiences we will get cut off from having them. I need to tread lightly here as I am not trying to mock those with spiritual gifts or special experiences. Its just that when people start advertising those gifts for curious onlookers and begin to sell books or tapes that they are producing I start to become concerned. There are stewardship issues here and I really wonder what the brethren think of all these seminars warning curious investigators about upcoming catastrophic events. I have a feeling that they would be concerned about these situations as well.

This is twice in two days... maybe I was dropped as a baby like ldsff says. I totally agree with Mark on this one.
Shadow, does that mean CHH was right, and I'm Satan's spawn?

Once you come around to CHH's way of thinking you'll realize that he's always right and all of us are little spawns.
But really, who cares about what these dreamers say anyway? When I was a child my good friend Kenny Rogers used to always say "don't fall in love with a dreamer".

Man what a relief! Can you imagine the burden and pressure it has been holding that in all these years. I'm actually relieved that its out of the closet. Healing can now begin.

Sterling D. Allan @ http://www.greaterthings.com/Book_of_Mormon/DNA/#Response wrote:I am not so quick to dismiss the Book of Mormon as a fraud... There are too many signatures of angels and of the Holy Spirit of God on the book... I draw your attention to the headquarters of the Mormon faith -- Salt Lake City, and the surrounding Wasatch Front. There are some remarkable unique geographical parallels between this location and the country of Israel. Both regions sit on a major north-south fault that has pent up potential for a huge quake. Both are situated near a dead body of water -- the two largest and only such significant bodies of water on earth: the Dead Sea, and the Great Salt Lake. Both are filled with a river named Jordan, which comes from a large lake: Utah Lake, and the Sea of Galilee. Both are surrounded by large mountains. Both are headquarters to a peculiar religious body of people noted by people worldwide -- the Jews and the Mormons. Both are situated at a crossroads of trade: Salt Lake City is considered the "crossroads of the West."...The prevailing thesis of the GreaterThings.com website I operate is that the Mormons were ordained of God to be his chosen people in these latter days, even as the Jews were chosen to be his peculiar people anciently, and that as the Jews rejected their Messiah on religious grounds, the Mormons are rejecting the Lord on political grounds.

It appears Allan "believes" still, but I would guess has been culled. Pay attention to what is being said by all the parties here, measure it with your own experience and reason, and with the spirit, and you'll know what to do. For me, some of what is said is truth, while some is not true. This is nothing new -- it's the same recipe -- and so the same cake when it is baked.

No toes stepped on here Honey. You're right on in my book. D & C 52:14 Satan is abroad in the land. (My only scriptural female gender joke.)... okay its not that funny.

Also as an FYI on Allan, he calls himself a "recovering extremist".
Sterling Allan wrote:I was excommunicated from the Mormon church for "apostasy" back in 1993, and can vouch first hand at how easy it is to use LDS doctrine to justify extreme behavior.
I'm a recovering extremist.
I'm one of those who for many years though I was the one and only "One Mighty and Strong" spoken of in LDS scripture, destined to set the Church in order. I even tried to get up in LDS General Conference in 1992 to give a talk and was escorted out by security guards... What I find as the ultimate problem here is when people take edicts or creeds, whether they be religious, political, scientific, or social, and follow them with no regard to their conscience.
You can read all his comments here if you wish:
http://www.greaterthings.com/Bookstore/ ... 030718.htm
Extremism is not good, we all have to live in our society. However, if we stand still in a progressively unrighteous environment we will, by simply not moving, become viewed as more and more extreme
compared to the society in which we live -- just by doing nothing. The church is a ship in a terrible storm, and I have no desire to be in the wheelhouse, and am wary of those who think they are the "chosen ones" (including visionaries) and that they know where that ship should go better than the appointed captain does.

I think if you read these books and get to know the authors most of you would see that their motives are pure.
The good ppl that I mention do not look to profit from their experiences, they share their testimonies because they were instructed to do so by the Savior-yes the Savior. Unless Christ tells you otherwise or they are exed from the church, I wouldn't dimiss their experiences nor mock them.
Also, they still are active members of the church. They are not out to start their own followings and bear testimony of the living prophets contained in our church.
Sterling got exed for rushing stage at a general conf claiming he had a vision and was suppose to speak to the masses-huge difference from these folks.
Glad he is in recovery.

Wow. She said that the tsunami that killed all those people was man-caused and set the stage for a 8.6 earthquake to come along the wasatch front! And it's in-line with Sarah Menet's 'vision'. She said the 'anti-christ' is a member of the church. Wow. I know...take it all with a grain of salt. Or what? If I take this information seriously, I need to relocate! I know I know...listen to the Prophets.
HoneyBee wrote:Stick with what whom we know is the true seer and revelator. The Prophet.
Anyone else who advertises their visitations, even if they did have them, is doing it for attention and serving satans plan which is to divert attention away from the living Prophet.
But they both seem so sincere...and say to listen to the Prophet over all of what they say. I will listen to people too, but I don't have to buy into it all.

Yea I'm listening right now. Interesting stuff - I think she is saying also that the big tsunami in Thailand was caused by the powers that be. And it ultimately sets off part of this chain of events...
I do have a hard time heeding this, because after all where is the authority for this lady to receive revelation for us? It is similar to Mennet, I will give it that.
I do wonder if the prophets have had this same stuff revealed to them, and just aren't sounding the alarm quite yet.

Sorry... I'm sure plenty has been revealed, they have after all been sounding the alarm for some time. What I wonder, is if they are sparing us some of the gory details...

Something I would just like to add....not in a condemning manner....but just a reminder to us all that Satan has the same powers that the Savior has...but the Savior has power over him. At least, this is what I have always been taught. Therefore, he is capable of creating so many, many diversions. God is not the author of confusion...we've all heard that. I would just recommend that people tread lightly and put their trust in our current Prophet. If there are things we are to know...he will be told to tell us. If there are personal things regarding our individual lives that we are to know....that will come through diligent prayer and it will be about things under our own stewardship. We've also been taught that the Lord's house is a house of order.
