Hi everyone,
So I"m new to the forum, but I have been shadowing it for a few weeks.

So a little bit about myself. I'm from Utah, truebelieving Mormon for most of my life. I now live about 10 blocks from Mormon Mecca and the City Creek Mall.

I most recently went into a crisis of faith because I found that I was not built on the rock of our redeemer. As the torrent of information has invaded my life about the church and it's less than sugar coated history, I found that I had built my foundation on the institution of mormonism, not Christ himself. In this search for understanding I found that even my deepest held beliefs about the existence of God were in jepordy. Through this though, I found the writings on Denver Snuffer. I dont' follow him first of all. He tells us the danger of this, as well as the danger of just following another man. But his writings are compelling and offer a point of view I never before considered. Becuase of this I feel as if I was pulled from that abbyss of endless woe and seen the light again. This time, I'm looking for the the savior himself, and by going directly to him I hope to build my foundation on him and not in any institution or man.

I still attend my meetings and I am a gospel doctrine teacher in Sunday School. I'm hoping however that by diligent study by the spirit, I'll be able to read the scriptures and understand them with fresh eyes. I also hope through this I can build a real relationship with Christ rather than that pretended one which existed before.

So my current studies are as follows: I've read Passing the Heavenly Gift, and I'm reading right now Rough Stone Rolling as well as the Joseph Smith Papers, and the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon. I'm also waiting to get in the mail the other Denver Snuffer Books, but I'm most especially looking forward to reading The Second Comforter:Conversing with the Lord through the Veil. I list these just to give you some background on where I'm at. I've also read all 10 of the Lectures from Denver Snuffer which I was not able to attend any in person unfortunatly.

There you have it. Cheers!
