My name is Mike. I was raised in Salt Lake City, lived, loved, and served a mission in Brazil, lived in California for many years, returned and raised our children in Salt Lake. My career background was in banking from which I retired awhile back, and now I am a controller in a small retail company. My avatar gives you an indication of one of my (life-long) passions. I also play guitars and banjos, and love most music—but my heart is into “that old-time rock-n-roll”.
I have participated on many forums and met some nice people. I very much enjoy attempting honest, thoughtful, and courteous one-to-one argumentation in the classical sense; and I try my best to avoid fallaciousness. But I really dislike snarky rebuttals and personal attacks—which have probably been chief factors in my drifting away from various forums in the past. I’ve been reading some posts here, trying to be less impulsive and maintain a low profile hahaha, while taking my bearings and getting the lay of the land.
Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve introduced myself in a forum. As you can see I like talking about myself, but then don’t most of us?
