Is this the forum of been looking for all my life?

Hey,

I was notified of this forum mainly from people I know who also follow DS's blog. I've been reading his blog for some time (probably over a yr; it started with reading his book "Come, Let Us Adore Him" which was very eye opening) and have attended some of his talks, including his last one in Phx, Arizona. I've known about this site for a while and have been meaning to register and talk to like minded people but haven't been able to find the time until now. DS's last talk though really has me wanting to talk to other people in my area about what's going on spiritually as well as politically. It seems to me a lot of odd things are happening just now, and I really need to stay on top of them and be able to see through any deception/idolatry/manipulation from powerful groups of people who don't have my best interests at heart and don't understand the principles of liberty and freedom.

Look forward to reading and commenting on the blog.

You really should look for truth from different sources. The source you mentioned above will eventually only lead to a very bad place--the philosophies of men, mingled...

Hmm...it would seem some are intent on criticizing the views of those they think are criticizing the church.

Welcome. Make a request to the "heavenly gift" sub-forum. It will be far leas contentious and always some interesting topics. You'll be welcomed with open arms, rather than being warned of apostasy.

As an older brother I say hello and give some sound advice.

Any high school child could do this:

Write down all the things that Jesus Christ has said to do and all the ways he said to be like, and all the things he said that you should know. Start with Matthew Mark Luke John and 3rd Nephi and the D&C. Afterwards go through the Old Testament Prophets and Proverbs and Psalms.

Read this report over and over and over and meditate upon these words of Jesus Christ day and night until they are written upon the table of your heart and mind and soul.
Fast and pray mightily to have the spirit with you and you will have the voice of Jesus Christ as a constant companion whispering in yours ears always with you.

Then every time you partake of the sacrament you will know what you are promising to do.

Treasure this knowledge more than gold or silver or possessions and get your name written in the book of life.

You will be glad you did as you will see the Beast that was for them that did not come to know all these things is nought for you because you know, but still will be for them because they did not come to know all these things. You will be able to understand and overcome this Beast of ignorance. :)

How do you know you're older than me?

Specifically, it means I follow his blog, not him as a person, but yeah a lot of people would probably state it that way.

When I say follow I don't necessarily mean what you think I mean. I mean like how you follow his blog, you keep track of things he says.

Haha, I do follow his blog, but I wouldn't say I'm a quote "snuffer Follower" with a capital F like it was written. Not sure what you meant by that, but, basically, I only follow Christ.

I would be interested to know, however: If a beast is typically an animal that is wild, dangerous and could potentially attack someone and ignorance is a lack of knowledge, why is it a "beast of ignorance"? If you're ignoring something, how is that attacking it?

Also, you referred to your own advice as "sound" which, seemed odd to me for some reason......

Did you switch up "your" and "you're" just to mess with my ODC tendencies?

So when we teach primary kids the song "Follow the Prophet", we're supposed to be teaching them to sign up for updates on LDS.org?

No believe it or not, in the real world I'm the grammar police. So if you see something misspelled or the wrong you're is used it's my phone. Sometimes I don't notice. ;)
You suck as a cop then. I correct the grammar corrections my phone makes. :ymcowboy:

Added you to the HG area. Please just read over the rules - it's a contention and judgement free zone :)
