Julie-
Here's a song my older siblings used to play while I was growing up.
"Chicago" by CSNY-Crobsy, Stills, Nash and Young.

"Chicago" by CSNY-Crobsy, Stills, Nash and Young.
Lyrics and video below:
Though your brother's bound and gagged
And they've chained him to a chair
Won't you please come to Chicago
Just to sing
In a land that's known as freedom
How can such a thing be fair
Won't you please come to Chicago
For the help that we can bring
We can change the world
Re-arrange the world
It's dying ... to get better
Politicians sit yourself down
There's nothing for you here
Won't you please come to Chicago
For a ride
Don't ask Jack to help you
'Cause he'll turn the other ear
Won't you please come to Chicago
Or else join the other side
We can change the world
Re-arrange the world
It's dying ... if you believe in justice
It's dying ... and if you believe in freedom
It's dying ... let a man live his own life
It's dying ... rules and regulations, who needs them
Open up the door
Somehow people must be free
I hope the day comes soon
Won't you please come to Chicago
Show your face
From the bottom of the ocean
To the mountains on the moon
Won't you please come to Chicago
No one else can take your place

As my name implies, I write a little here and there too. Let me tell you it's much faster to write what is TRUE than to just make stuff up. Liars have to make sure their lies are consistent. Honest individuals just need to make sure they are speaking what the Spirit would have them say.Bananikka wrote:Wow!!!!!! Are you serious??? You must have had divine intervention!!! Re: I've turned into a Julie Rowe believer
I can say this much about Julie Rowe. Several years ago when I was in an Elder's Quorum presidency I had an assignment to pray about what we, as a presidency, needed to do for the ward. Long story short - within a few days of that I had a dream where I saw a lot of thing. At the end of the dream I was standing in front of a massive building that had several other huge buildings connected to it. The buildings were all connected with large archways that I referred to as "buttresses" when I told my wife when I woke up. I saw a lot of detail, including that instead of an Angel Moroni at the top it was a statue of Jesus Christ with his arms outstretched. When I saw the statue of Jesus on the spire that's when I realized it was the temple at New Jerusalem and that He had come - no longer needing Moroni to herald His coming because he was there.
Fast forward to last week. My wife was reading Julie's book and she jumped off the couch and came and found me to read to me her description of the temple at New Jerusalem. Her description was exactly what I saw in my dream. That was a huge point of confirmation to me that what she saw was probably for real. Not to mention listening to her interview with Mill Crenshaw where she was able to openly answer questions on the spot that were all consistent with other visions I've read and heard.
Joel 2: 28-32 and Acts 2:17-21 clearly state that these things will happen and should be expected in our time. Joel 2: 28-32 was also repeated to Joseph Smith Jr by Moroni 3 times when he appeared in his bedroom.

RH, she travels out of state to give free firesides. The profit margin from the inexpensive, paperback book is so small that it doesn't cover her travel expenses. She and her husband are making sacrifices so she may spread her message.Robin Hood wrote: Has the Lord directed you how to use the profits from this book?

She could have simply set up a website.
And why write another book? Has she had another NDE?

She could have simply set up a website. Because some of us like paper books to read, not websites, not kindle or nook
And why write another book? Has she had another NDE?Because those that have dreams and visions can't turn them on and off so normally dont have just one experience
Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Your dream is wonderful and meaningful, IMO, however, You need to be careful what you base your belief in Julie Rowe or any other person on.olinselot wrote:I can say this much about Julie Rowe. 'Spencer' mentions the same thing in his book and his was published before hers. Neither Julie nor 'Spencer' are 'revealing' some unknown plan for the New Jerusalem. This temple complex was revealed by Joseph Smith and they even drew up plans for what they intended to be built there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_LotIn June 1833, Smith set out the Plat of Zion, which laid out how the community was to be structured. At the center of the planned city were to be 24 "temples" — 12 for the high priesthood and 12 for lesser priesthood. The specific name for the temple to be built on Temple Lot was "The House of the Lord for the Presidency" which had the following description:

Re: I've turned into a Julie Rowe believer
Very good point AI2.0.
There is so much material out there about the last days etc that it would be very strange if we never dreamed about it.
I had a dream about the end times once. I don't know whether it was inspiration or just my brain filtering through the stuff in my mind. Certainly some of the scenes did look similar to some movies I had seen, when I come to think about it.
But I wouldn't consider for a moment writing a book about it because I am not a prophet, seer and revelator for the Saints. And neither are Julie Rowe or Spencer whatsisname.

Hi,Robin Hood wrote: But why write a book and offer it for sale?
She could have simply set up a website.
And why write another book? Has she had another NDE?
The first two chapters of her book can be read online:
http://www.abysmal.com/Merchant2/mercha ... t_Code=AGT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The ninth chapter, which begins her vision of the future:
http://www.nofearpreps.com/a-better-tomorrow.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
During her interview with Mills Crenshaw, he asked:
"What do you say to the skeptics who say you and others with near-death experiences who write books, that think you are just in it for the money?"
She replied:
"They must not know how little we make. You said that you received only 43 cents for each of your books sold, fortunately my publisher has been a little more generous with me. However, I wish I could personally give each person on the planet a book, it’s that important. Also, my appearances like the one at the Logan tabernacle tomorrow are all free."
She also said during her interviews that The Lord instructed her to write a book. There could be a variety of reasons, for example older demographics still predominately prefer books over the internet. Also, it has in fact helped her with some of her travel expenses.
Her second book was also completed under the direction from The Lord. It includes some FAQ's that she's received from her readers. On her website, it states:
In her second interview with Mills Crenshaw, he said:After writing her first book A Greater Tomorrow, Julie was flooded with questions from her readers. In response, Julie is currently working on a second and final book, The Time Is Now. This book will address how we can prepare for the coming events. It includes:
The Hastening of the Work
Spiritual and Physical Preparedness
Natural Disasters and Plagues
And more!
"Many people have the concern, “Who is this Julie? What makes her so special?” And, “She doesn’t have stewardship.”"
She replied:
"I am not any more special that any of God’s other children. We all have a foreordained mission and this is part of mine.
I agree, I don’t have stewardship. Although I have been shown things, I have to stay within the bounds that the Lord has given me, and I cannot cross those bounds or I will lose the trust of our Father in Heaven and our Savior, and I will not have the Spirit with me. One of the most important messages that I am to share is that we are to learn how to identify, and discern to the point that we can fine-tune, how the Spirit speaks to us individually, so that as the days go on, we can know for ourselves every bit of truth that the Lord would have us know, and we can know how to direct our friends, our family members, and how we can help ourselves and our loved ones. That can only come through the Spirit of the Holy Ghost."

Re: I've turned into a Julie Rowe believer
Suppose for a moment that your dreams/visions/NDEs were not only something you remembered but also profoundly spiritual. Suppose that this was part of your purpose here on earth, to act as a voice of warning. Then suppose you were told not to talk about it for nine years. Then, all of a sudden, The Lord says "Now - share your experience! The time is right and the work is hastening. Fulfill the purpose for which you were given these experiences. Oh, by the way, many won't believe you and many will mock or try to discourage you." That's kind of a special place to be in, if you ask me. Also, maybe I'm mistaken about this, but I think the publishers approached her about doing a book, not the other way around. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.Robin Hood wrote:Very good point AI2.0.

Honestly, if you don't believe in her testimony or Spencer's, that's fine. More power to you. If you prefer to simply heed the words of the prophets, read your scriptures, and work on perfecting your ability to hear the Spirit while improving your relationship with the Savior, then I'd say you're doing awesome. I'm working every day to be more able to do just that. Julie and Spencer act as witnesses of the veracity of the scriptures and the words of the prophets, so hearing them and believing them does me no harm. It just points me back to the prophets, the scriptures and listening to the Spirit so I can draw closer to Christ.
Side note: I think I paid about $13.49 for her book on Amazon. If she's walking away with $.50/book after giving of her time to write it, I think I can live with that. Heck, even if it's five times that much I wouldn't care. How she spends or donates it is between her and God. I only have to answer for what I'm doing with my time and money, and hopefully I'm using both wisely enough to be drawing closer to God daily.

I had a similar experience, I read hers and Visions of Glory back-to-back, and the only times in my life when I recall a spiritual confirmation lasting so long was in 1998 when I reactivated myself, and in 2000 when I prayed about serving a mission. This is real.hrac wrote:By the time I finished I was on a spiritual high that lasted for a couple weeks.
If you haven't listened to her two 3-hour radio interviews, google the Mills Crenshaw show, archives May 29 and July 16.
