Hello!

I recently defected from the GOP... and it's been a humbling and eye opening time for me. I am a SAHM of two boys, one four and one 10 months... one adopted from Guatemala, which I think puts me on the terrorist suspect list, and one bio. My husband works as a flour miller, is a great husband and friend, and the best person I know.

I have chosen to vote CP this election, but will never be so loyal to a party that I can't see straight again. I have a brother on this forum, and I'll let you guess who unless he decides to fess up... not sure if he wants to own me or not! He happened to plant seeds at exactly the right time for me - my husband and I were discussing our frustration with the Republican party and I gave him the wasted vote crap, and he told me I was wrong... and for once, and only once - he was right  ... AH! I hate to say that!!!

Anyway, I'm still at the overwhelmed with information stage... now that my special republican glasses are gone, things look a lot different! I'm sorting through everything, spending way too much time on line, and making sense of it all, as well as being ashamed for letting myself fall prey to the lies I should have been able to see through sooner.

I look forward to arguing with all of you - just teasing, I'll be civil - as civil as being raised in a family of boys, married into a family of boys, and having two boys will allow of course, which probably isn't all that civil, but I will try.

I'm proud to have you as a sister. I always have been even if I never showed it. I would be proud of the rest of us if they would pull their butts up out of the gutter and "stand a little taller."

Now you'll have that stigma again though of being my sister.

I for one look forward to another capable debater on the right side of things. I've been trying to shew a few off here lately and have had limited success.

Hahaha... "the rest of us" have inhaled so many sewer gases that they can't think straight - but don't tell them I said that! They could reason their way around anything, but that's what half a lifetime of Rush Limbaugh will do to people I guess. I love them despite it, and I believe one day they'll come around and see things for what they are. They still won't watch my CP know the issues movie though.

They can't fish either, but both can be learned.

Know what's funny, I haven't been fishing in forever. I miss Utah fishing, isn't that sad! I would give a wooden nickle to go fish up Morgan way again! Once we get a boat and the Kings are running again I expect I'll change my mind though. We're gonna look for bears come spring.

We don't get out as much with the kids, and last time one fell into Lost creek, another time dropped his rod... sigh... they are a complication. Seth would love to catch a king - all the planted fish are mostly the same size at the places we typically go, it would be fun to catch some biggies, and Strawberry doesn't seem to be as good anymore as it once was. Actually with the wee one, I have been left in the dust! I think Seth is afraid I will outfish him, very painful for his pride when he's outfished by a girl.

It's fun to say this stuff when he's not here to defend himself!

That's sad, we used to do pretty well at Stawberry. They have a campaign here called "kids dont float" pretty funny, I want to get a sticker or something!

Luckily on the beaches here there is plenty to do with all of the little bits of driftwood and broken polished glass and such. Gin and Asa like to go wading into the streams that come down throughthe beach and swim in them some when the tide is up. It's a lot warmer than Birch Lake was!

ChelC,

Welcome. I would love to have my sister join. I think she does a bit of lurking, but hasn't participated as of yet.

Anyway, glad to have you aboard.

Hi Chelsea, Good to have another one of the female persuassion around here. I've ben lurking here for a few weeks and haven't said much.
I liked what you said about "special Republican glasses". My family is pretty much still wearing them. I would describe them as more total sensory deprivation helmets! because to see what's going on and not question the GOP is to be totally in denial or totally submerged. Or both. My husband gets it and some of my friends get it. But some others are "VERY WORRIED ABOUT US". Any way good to meet you. I'll now go post my own intro.
Sue

>>>>>> as well as being ashamed for letting myself fall prey to the lies I should have been able to see through sooner.

The irony is that eventhough we feel enlightened, how much of the smoke are we still falling for and how mch of the minutae are we buying into in the meantime!!!
