Hello All!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a fairly new convert (2+ years) here in the Murfreesboro Tennessee Stake. I stumbled upon this site late one night while searching out questions that one ponders when preparing to make that trip to the temple.
I have a strong testimony of this work and the fullness of the Book of Mormon. I read the scriptures, Ensign, etc. but often find myself wanting to dive deeper into the theology and history of our Church. I am often found searching out LDS books at the local Goodwill stores ( you would be surprised with what you find in backwoods Tn! )
My temporal interests include music, firearms and self-preservation, and day dreaming about living amongst the mountains.
Glad to be here

1911, welcome to the forum.
I applaud you on your desire to learn the gospel. Though I would recommend that you recognize gospel commentary as that, commentary. There is no substitute for the scriptures.

I wondered if you'd mention firearms when I saw your screen name. I don't have a 1911, but I love my compact Glock and my subcompact Beretta.
Yes, I'm trained in both safety and proficiency.

laronius: Point well taken, I'm taken it all with a grain a salt. Shall I say, thought provoking as opposed to revelatory.
Lizzy60: My normal screen name was in use, so I just went with it. Glocks are great weapons. For me however, here is no finer mechanical device than the 1911. The history of it, the way it feels in the hand.....I could go on and on. The fact that it was conceived by a self-taught genius from Ogden is just icing on the cake.
Thanks guys!
