I'd have to look into this and how feasible it is.

What does customization entail on your end? Are you actually writing code? Or is there just a bunch of plugins or something that you can use? I'm not familiar with forums and how people create them. The Creator wrote: ↑September 21st, 2020, 5:31 pmI'd have to look into this and how feasible it is.

I guess I could just quote someone from another post and delete all the quotes content so it just notifies them haha. The Creator wrote: ↑September 21st, 2020, 5:31 pmI'd have to look into this and how feasible it is.

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
It depends on what it is. There are "plugins" for this forum software but it's not quite as simple as something like WordPress, not quite as plug-n-play.Zathura wrote: ↑September 21st, 2020, 5:41 pmWhat does customization entail on your end? Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
At what point are board warnings expunged? Or are they permanent, there being no erasure of old mistakes whatsoever?
Wouldn't it be fair to have a four month, for example, time frame where the first warning can then be expunged, then later the second, then third, etc.?

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
I've never been warned, but this seems like a good idea. If a person does nothing to merit another warning after four months, then delete the first warning. Still doing well four months after the next one, get rid of it.righteousrepublic wrote: ↑January 19th, 2021, 1:25 am At what point are board warnings expunged? But, this is supposing the latest warning was not given recently.

How about I set it so warnings 'expire' after a year? Thoughts, suggestions, comments?..

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
A year? How hard is it to get a warning? Sounds like it's pretty hard to get a warning. If it's difficult or takes a lot to get a warning, than 6 months max. You can tell pretty quick and easy who your bad eggs are, I betThe Creator wrote: ↑January 19th, 2021, 8:14 pm How about I set it so warnings 'expire' after a year? Thoughts, suggestions, comments?..

If you upset someone enough that they quit the forum you should get a tally mark next to your name. I think I would have 2 so far.

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
How about 6 months, like cruiserdude said? Each one expires 6 months after it was given. Or even 4? If someone gets three within a few months' time, I'd say there's a problem. The Creator wrote: ↑January 19th, 2021, 8:14 pm How about I set it so warnings 'expire' after a year? Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
Ok, 6 months it is.
Though, if people just follow the forum rules no warnings will be given. There are some who've been here for 10+ years and never received a warning.

This is a bad route to go down. Penalties should be based solely on the content of what people post, not the reaction of another individual to that post.Primary Outcast wrote: ↑January 19th, 2021, 11:27 pm If you upset someone enough that they quit the forum you should get a tally mark next to your name. Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
This is not a suggestion, rather, an inquiry. Are forum members protected from members being censured and censored by outside sources? Do we now have to keep our thoughts to ourselves when we feel Government is overstepping its bounds and we are not allowed any redress of grievances?
Censorship is growing exponentially and we are in danger of losing our freedom to speak out against tyranny.
I would like to know if our feelings and words against tyranny is protected speech by the forum owner. Or will the other shoe drop eventually?
I'm certain there are others here wondering the same thing. Anyone want to agree?

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
The answer to that question should be obvious. Discussing government corruption and tyranny has always been part of the purpose of this forum.righteousrepublic wrote: ↑February 12th, 2021, 9:15 amDo we now have to keep our thoughts to ourselves when we feel Government is overstepping its bounds and we are not allowed any redress of grievances?
Yes, you have free speech within the bounds of the forum rules.righteousrepublic wrote: ↑February 12th, 2021, 9:15 amI would like to know if our feelings and words against tyranny is protected speech by the forum owner. Or will the other shoe drop eventually?

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
I hope I word this correctly. What I am asking is this. Are forum members able to speak freely without outside influences cracking down and trying to censor or censure any one of us, like twitter has shut down Trump and others who dare speak out against tyranny. Or like Lou Dobbs being taken off air for speaking truth? The Creator wrote: ↑February 15th, 2021, 2:30 pmThe answer to that question should be obvious. I know there are forum rules. But what about Big Tech coming after those that speak out and having them quashed? Are we being watched by outsiders ready and waiting to step on forum members and shut them up? Put a different way, does the forum have a firewall of protection against outsiders wanting to put muzzles on anyone?

No. Just if any of us have to be careful of being muzzled by Big Tech and having our freedom to speak against tyranny hampered. You know, like spies turning in someone for speaking out.Cruiserdude wrote: ↑February 15th, 2021, 3:36 pmNo way. I just barely now noticed that your avatar butterfly that the wings are moving????? I'm really having a difficult time is expressing my thoughts in an understandable fashion. Sorry.
My avatar is supposed to represent the Fender's Blue Butterfly, an extremely rare species.

Re: Please submit SUGGESTIONS for improvements to the Forum...
A lot would have to happen for "Big Tech" to censor this site, or get the Parler treatment, or whatever. Individually most of us are 'anonymous' on this forum, so I don't think the worry would be about spies. I think we just need to hope that government doesn't become so tyrannical that the the right of free speech is removed from the internet. At that point sites like this would be forced to go 'underground' and I think the conspiracy and corrupt governments actually prefer for that not to happen. Don't know. I guess we'll see what happens.

I don't like the commiesocialists and speak out against them on this site frequently. The left is crying like a bunch of toddlers that had their suckers taken from them because they couldn't impeach a civilian from a high office.
I came up with a new show called "As My Stomach Churns" dedicated to the commie tyrants.
