Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
Hi, I’m new here. I have a friend who recommended checking out this forum. I am a software engineer by profession, plus I have a wife and three kids. A few years ago I had a spiritual awakening. Since then, I’ve searched the scriptures, read John Pontius and Denver Snuffer books, and started following a number of LDS blogs.
I’ve learned so much and changed so much in this time that I feel like a different person. And yet, I’m still changing. I’m seeking to know my Savior and to receive the Holy Ghost through the baptism of fire. I’ve tried to “weary the Lord” with my petitions, but have so far only left myself weary. =)

Re: Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
Rather than petition the Lord for a visit, I have found that most of my best experiences have come after some sincere repentance and seeing myself as less than the dust of the earth - that's when the Lord puts his arms around you to tell you how awesome you are and how much He loves you!
It is true I guess that you need to seek, ask, and knock. It's just never really worked for me that way, much. Except when I was begging for succor from the flames of hell - I guess I was especially motivated! ;)

Re: Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
That is a great thing to seek for.
Jesus Christ does not lie.
Seek and ye shall find.
Knock and it shall be opened unto you.
See how Peter and his apostles got theirs.
Understand the cost. D&C 103:28
You must be willing to pay the price of everything that you possess including your life forgiving and loving those who might take it.
You will be tried and tested and proven of God.
When you are ready having feasted upon the words of Jesus Christ until you know all that he has said, you will know when you are ready. Your faith will bring you to him:)

Re: Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
New to this forum in terms of posting, but have been reading it since December 2012. I, like you, have read John Pontius, Denver Snuffer, blogs and the like, and have had a mighty change wrought upon me several times. I will be sending a request to the Heavenly Gift forum, with the desire to share and receive information from others on the same path.

Re: Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
Hey Jules. I'd really like access to the Heavenly Gift forum. I've read all of the books and talks of Snuffer and Pontius, and all the blogs I can get my hands on about receiving the blessings of the gospel. Sounds like that is the right forum for discussing these types of things? I've requested, but I'm just waiting. Are you a moderator on that forum? Can you help me out? ThanksJules wrote:Welcome to the forum! Be sure to send a request to the Heavenly Gift area where we discuss these things.

Re: Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
Jules, I would like to be admitted to the Heavenly Gift area because I too am seeking the Second Comforter. However, I have not read any of Snuffer's works. I have read all of John Pontius' books. I am really more interested in learning about the Second Comforter than these authors. Would I qualify to be admitted?Jules wrote:Welcome to the forum! I would guess Snuffer would approve of that. He has said the focus should not ever be him but on Christ alone.Reggie wrote:Jules, I would like to be admitted to the Heavenly Gift area because I too am seeking the Second Comforter. Re: Seeking the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost
Could I also request permission for the heavenly gift forum? I love John Pontius' work and would love to learn more!
