Guided and seeking like minds

Post by CTRAngelGurl »

HI everyone and by that I mean the unknown number who actually felt compelled to read this post. There is a divine purpose for your reading this and I am eager to be with, at least digitally, you. I have a very close friend, with whom I can normally sit for hours on end and talk about nothing but deep doctrinal precepts and our experiences. I cherish these moments but find that my heart is still reaching for more. She shared with me that she was on this site and I felt that I should join as well. So here I am.... eager and waiting. :ymhug:

I am not sure what I should or shouldn't post about myself, as I tend to be an open book and share it all. That being said... please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I am almost 32, married to the man I fell in love with at 16 and had to wait 13 years later to find again. I am a So Cal native that has been transplanted in Nashville via Southern Ontario Canada. I am a Licensed Clinical Neuromuscular Massage Therapist with a focus on Peri-Natal work. I have already been blessed to attend 2 births and those moments were utterly transcendent. From those moments I have found myself on the amazing journey that the Lord originally set forth for me to becoming a Doula and Midwife.

I was born in the church but I consider myself a convert. I was 21 when I returned to our Father and allowed the Atonement to work through me and my life. Since then I have been at times on a very difficult yet richly blessed road.

I have searched and studied Spiritual gifts my whole life, even while inactive, in a way to learn how to cope and use my own.

I have a sure Knowledge that I am Spiritual being having a mortal experience and that is sometimes harder to deal with than when I battled my physical addictions with Alcohol. (MY first coping mechanism to dealing with certain spiritual gifts.)

I feel that the culture in which we live is often uneasy with talking about deeper precepts and certain aspects are overly shrouded in sacredness...when I feel that we should rely upon the words of the Comforter and speak as He would have us do for Him.

I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that our Father has prepared the way and has given us all of the tools, seen and unseen, to return into His presence again. I know that I am not the only one who knows these things. I also know that I am not the only one unafraid to speak of these things.

Time is at hand.... it is time to put away childish things and do the Work.

Welcome to the forum K.P.!!

Thank you for your introduction. I am very interested in hearing more about your spiritual gifts! I also know by experience some of the struggles of dealing with these before we have an understanding from God of their beauty.

I look forward to your posts!

Jules

As for my spiritual gifts, I say this and am probably being silly for it but I just don't want to be perceived as a novelty. ( which has been the case in the past) My veil is very thin and sometimes not there. My gift of Discernment is very well developed as well. I have the gift of healing which I use daily as a licensed massage therapist and training doula. I also believe I have the spiritual gift of Love. For many years I felt burdened with the fact that I love people so intensely and quite instantly once I get close enough to them and no warning signs go off. It can and has often times made people do a double take. Those close to me have come to understand it and to confirm my thoughts about it. I have the ability to see people as the Lord sees them and I often get glimpses of their lives and what has brought them to that moment. Many years ago, I remember this until the day I return home, I was sitting at work and reading a book by Sherri Dew and the Lord told me that I needed to start recognizing myself, not as how I saw myself but how to see the woman He knew me to be. It was a moment that changed my perception for eternity.

your signature is interesting

something like what Brigham Young might be saying right now..

after he read that so many Mormons today read words of his which were recorded that seem to supersede everything else which has ever been said, including by the Savior

which record, that even if one single word was altered slightly from the original thing which he actually spoke, would cause many a destructed soul, and even be a great hindrance to the work at hand.

but which, nonetheless, many people cling to and continue to uphold.

Very interesting Tenzen. It is a thought that has been on my mind a lot of late. Growth is essential in this life and it seems to me that if you grow on things you think you know.... It won't take much to sway you off the path or downright demolish everything you hold dear.

Your picture is super sassy. :D

I get to claim K.P. as my BFF, really truly. Especially when she casts hellhounds off my property while she's watching my kids. And gives these little circle back rubs that are so awesome I can't complete a sentence.

Due to your interest in Midwifery and that you live in TN, are you familiar with The Farm Midwives?? :D Ina May Gaskin and her birth philosophy is one of the many reasons why I'm hoping to be a doula someday. Pregnancy and birth are truly sacred.

I totally agree with you! I am very familiar with the Farm and I plan on spending some time there too. I have already been blessed to help 2 babies enter this world and it only made me want it more. I truly feel that it is a calling. Keep at it sister because the rewards are amazing!

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome!! :ymhug: I really look forward to your contributions to the forum. I am also a massage therapist. I don't feel particularly gifted but I am trying to develop the faith to ask for and receive all good gifts. The Lord has and continues to bless me so far. I love what I do though and the education in massage opened me up to a world of truths from many, many sources! I am truly excited to hear what you have to say! How long have you been a therapist?

I graduated from school in December of 2010. A time in my life that truly saved me. I received my degree in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (NMT). I knew going into it I wanted to be more clinical in my practice and I have been blessed to work with many doctors and their patients. How about you? How long have you been in it? What modalities do you specialize in?

Thank you for such an awesome welcome Anthony!

I like to think they do but all joking aside... it can be a scary thing in the moment. It wasn't until the first time I had to cast Satan out that I truly understood the word "HATE" I always chuckle when I hear people say "Be the person that makes the Devil say "Oh crap, she's up" I think he might honestly think that but I know that he takes it as seriously as I do.

I have only been there done that on a smaller scale of what you have experienced. But I fully believe that one day it will happen because I am truly seeking my Lord out as He councils us in John 14. I can only imagine how scary it must be to see the darker things of the spirit.

I look forward to reading your insights and experiences!

I think that is one of the things I love most about this forum! Being able to draw upon the knowledge and experiences that others have! I felt very alone for a very long time and knew that I could not talk to anyone around me about it. It was very disheartening. It wasn't until Leejae and I got to know each other that I was able to share and know that it would be accepted. I am here to help in any way that I can!!!!!

Graduated from the professional program in AZ October 2009. Decided to take another 350 hours of certification and graduated from that in April 2010. I learned some cranial sacral and delved into TCM concepts. I love what I do. I have been lead to learn about and understand more about energy work. It has made a difference in my practice. I do a lot of injury work and have recently studied lymphatic drainage massage. I'm 53 so I am trying to figure out where to go with it for the long term. The Lord has been leading me on an incredible journey but I haven't been told the destination yet for this particular aspect of my life. Soon I am told....anyway it's great fun to have a skill that can relieve pain and discomfort in people.
