That's not specific to LDS, but absolutely correct. We should forgive and most saints do an exemplary job of this as in this tear-jerker video.Bee Prepared wrote:How about forgiving one another Daryl....

Re: 50 Reasons Why I Love the LDS Church
Home teaching
Cleaning up after ward parties.
Stake priesthood meetings at 7:30 am
Cleaning the temple until past midnight.
Helping random people move.
Landscaping the temple grounds
Food drives for the scouts
Tithing settlement
PEC and ward council
Indexing
Knocking on all your neighbor's doors to try and activate them.
Saturday night stake conference meetings. ( I mean come on, lets have some more meetings already)
I miss Friday conference. (You young ones won't remember that.) I also miss hour and half sacrament or longer.( You young ones won't remember that) and hour and half Sunday school with sacrament served during opening. we are really turning into wimps. The 3 hr block used to be 4-5 hrs with breaks between meetings, at least for priesthood holders.
Collecting fast offerings. ( The old guys have to do it when there are not enough Aaronic priesthood)
Cleaning the church building.
Welfare square assignments.
Cleaning temple square buildings, like tabernacle, conference center, assembly hall, etc.
Youth conference
Scout campouts in the snow.
Youth conference fundraisers
Service projects.
Ward Christmas parties.
Calling everyone brother or sister.
Wearing garments, especially on hot days when working outside. Another issue we are getting wimpy on. No more ankle length, wrist length, onesies.
Trek. Why shouldn't we enjoy a little taste of pioneer hardship?
Mormon history tours.
Singing ,We Thank You O God for a Prophet.

Re: 50 Reasons Why I Love the LDS Church
Daryl: I like most of your list, except #27 (and yes, I do remember BEFORE the block) and #35 (in the autumn, our entire lives are planned around the BYU football schedule).
And, I would have to add one that isn't really true anymore. I used to love RS homemaking meeting. I wasn't all that fond of the rest of RS, but homemaking taught a 19-year-old young bride that couldn't boil an egg how to cook, bake, and make some of the world's best candy.
It taught me skills whereby I was able to manage our home very economically which gave me the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom to six for a number of years, when many of my peers were forced into the workplace to make ends meet.
Also, being shy by nature, the church literally forced me into teaching and leadership roles I would NEVER have voluntarily undertaken, so at least I know I can do those things if I have to. (Though I still prefer not to;-)
