I think this has become one of my new favorite scriptures for the time being. I was reading D&C 67:10 today....
10 And again, verily I say unto you that it is your privilege, and a promise I give unto you that have been ordained unto this ministry, that inasmuch as you strip yourselves from jealousies and fears, and humble yourselves before me, for ye are not sufficiently humble, the veil shall be rent and you shall see me and know that I am—not with the carnal neither natural mind, but with the spiritual."
What are some ways that we can strip ourselves of jealousies and fears and humble ourselves? I know God can also help us. But where does God's part end and our part begin?
What things can we do and become that help this process of stripping away jealousies and fears?
What things has God done for you that have helped you in this process?
What are some things in the past that God has done for the saints of his church in general to help them with this process?
Thanks for sharing your insights.
"strip yourselves from jealousies and fears, and humble..."

What are we jealous of? Let go of all of it.ask*seek*find wrote:What are some ways that we can strip ourselves of jealousies and fears and humble ourselves?
Fears - Face them. Look because you don't want to look. Learn to enjoy the discomfort. If you are comfortable your not feeling the necessary friction to cause progression.

Gave me a piece of heaven and then asked for it back. - ouch - "Im Loven it"ask*seek*find wrote:What things has God done for you that have helped you in this process?

Can you help me to understand a little bit more, Jeremy?Gave me a piece of heaven and then asked for it back. - ouch - "Im Loven it"
What I meant by "Where does God' part end and our part begin?" I meant, how do we know when our efforts are adequate or sufficient...not that we want to be a slacker, but so that we don't run faster than we have strength?

I'm not sure but I can try to elaborate.ask*seek*find wrote:Can you help me to understand a little bit more, Jeremy?
We are supposed to some day "endure" His presents and glory. If you imagine yourself as a little tiny balloon and His glory as water, you can't put a lot of water in the balloon instantly because it would burst. But if you stretch it over time the balloons capacity to hold water increases. Now imagine you fill the capacity of the balloon with something extremely unpleasant. When the water comes the balloon would burst. There is no room. Now imagine that you fill the balloon with something good, then empty it. Now it can be filled instantly with the water because it has already been stretched.
When we sacrifice we are creating room for Him. He needs a lot of room. So once we run out of things to sacrifice He will bless us with more...so our capacity increases. Then He will ask for it back...thus stretching us and then making more room.

When my first child was born I could not imagine possibly loving a second child as much as the first. Then the second one came. A miracle occurred and I found that my capacity to love increased and that I loved them both equally. This miracle continues. Neither child was robed or favorited.
This ability to have our capacity increased is the trait of Gods and follows laws not native to this sphere. Heavenly blessings are tied to heavenly laws...and at some point we sacrifice heavenly things to keep heavenly laws.
