Gov. has no authority to continue state of emergency, Michigan Supreme Court rules - mlive.com

The governor does not have authority under either of the state’s emergency statutes to continue the coronavirus state of emergency, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled in questions related to a federal case on Friday.

Two laws -- the Emergency Management Act from 1976 and the Emergency Powers of the Governor Act from 1945 -- govern how states of emergency are declared and handled in Michigan.

Neither, the court found, gave Gov. Gretchen Whitmer the authority to continue declaring states of emergency or issuing unilateral orders under them past April 30, when her initial declaration would have expired.

Photojournalist discovers left-wing anarchists cause riots - TheBlaze

On May 31, Quinn covered a Black Lives Matter protest in Santa Monica, California, where "suburban moms" were kneeling. Then he was alerted to a shoe store being looted about a mile away.

"He arrived to find young people pouring out of the store, shoeboxes under their arms. But there was something odd about the scene," Farah Stockman wrote in the New York Times. "A group of men, dressed entirely in black, milled around nearby, like supervisors. One wore a creepy rubber Halloween mask."
The next day, Quinn went to another protest, and another store was being looted. A white man wearing all black smashed the window of the store with a crowbar, but he walked away without stealing anything.

Quinn started pouring over footage of looting that was happening across the country. Once again, he noticed that white men dressed in black were often the culprits of the looting.

Quinn believed that the caucasian men causing damage were white supremacist supporters of President Donald Trump, who were attempting to make Black Lives Matter protests appear in a negative light. In an effort to expose the alleged racist Trump supporters, Quinn went undercover and infiltrated the groups. Instead, he found that these destructive forces were "true believers in insurrectionary anarchism."

New York City mayor seeks to lockdown coronavirus hotspots ...

NEW YORK, Oct 4 (Reuters) - New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, to contain the spread of COVID-19 in what was once the U.S. epicenter of the pandemic, said on Sunday he is moving to shut non-essential businesses as well as schools in nine neighborhoods identified as coronavirus clusters, starting on Wednesday.

Seeking state approval for the lockdown, de Blasio said it would affect nine ZIP codes where coronavirus positivity rates have spiked, sometimes as the result of failure to social distance and wear face masks. He said neighborhoods in another 11 ZIP codes were on a "watch list" because of their rising positivity rates.

Could Someone Hack My Microchip Implant?

These are, absolutely, very bleak times, but in a sense we should cherish them: we’re living through maybe the last stretch of history before employers start mandating microchips en masse. You’re going to miss living in fear of contracting a deadly virus, once HR brings out the scalpel—and then you’re going to miss the day you had a productivity tracker roughly sewn into your forearm, because of course that’s just the beginning. If I’ve learned anything from the news, it’s that rival foreign superpowers are obsessed with hacking things. And you can bet they’ll set to messing around with your body-chip, when the time comes. At the very least, they’ll try—there’s always the chance they might fail. For this week’s Giz Asks, we reached out to a number of experts to find out whether someone—the nerd down the street, the Russian government, whoever—could actually hack your microchip.

Public school teacher reportedly berates 10-year-old student for saying they admire President Trump - TheBlaze

According to KTTH-FM's Jason Rantz, Perry G. Keithley Middle School sixth grade teacher Brendon Stanton went on the offensive on Friday after a 10-year-old student revealed that Trump is the person the he most admires.

During a recent virtual class, Stanton reportedly asked the students, "Who is the one person you admire and why?"

In the class's chat, an unnamed child answered, "I admire Donald J. Trump because he is making America great again. And because he is the best president the United States of America could ever, ever have. And he built a wall so terrorists couldn't come into in the [sic] the U.S. Trump is the best person in the world. And that's why I had [sic] admire him."

KTTH reported that "Stanton almost immediately kicked the student out of the chatroom, deleted the chat, and proceeded to attack the president, while calling out the student for mentioning him."

Elsy Kusander, the mother of the unnamed child, told Rantz in a recent interview that she walked into the room to hear the teacher "berating the president," so she took the opportunity to begin recording the exchange — which she provided to Rantz for the basis of their conversation.

So just for fun lets say God saw the United Order wasn't gonna ever gain world wide acceptance coming from LDS. But he wanted to get it set up for people.

And really who could blame Him. We live in a world with so much held by so few. While too many struggle in poverty.

To answer the cries for relief, Could He not stir among the peoples of the nations and even inspire some non_lds leadees to consider ways to make it so one flesh was not esteemed higher than another?

Maybe it is not the final product, maybe it is bereft with problems, but does it do good if it prepares people for His perfect system?

God does not use force to get you into heaven.

240 Know This, That Every Soul Is Free

1.Know this, that ev’ry soul is free
To choose his life and what he’ll be;
For this eternal truth is giv’n:
That God will force no man to heav’n.

2.He’ll call, persuade, direct aright,
And bless with wisdom, love, and light,
In nameless ways be good and kind,
But never force the human mind.

3.Freedom and reason make us men;
Take these away, what are we then?
Mere animals, and just as well
The beasts may think of heav’n or hell.

4.May we no more our pow’rs abuse,
But ways of truth and goodness choose;
Our God is pleased when we improve
His grace and seek his perfect love.

‘Don’t Be Afraid of Covid,’ Trump Says, Undermining Public Health Messages

“Don’t be afraid of Covid,” he wrote. “Don’t let it dominate your life.” When he arrived at the White House a few hours later, Mr. Trump removed his mask before joining several masked people inside. The president was probably still contagious, as many patients can pass on the virus for up to 10 days after symptoms begin.

New York Governor Cuomo: “I’m going to say to the orthodox community tomorrow if you don’t agree then we will have to close down your religious institutions.” – Reason.com

"I say [to a health officer] you're going to be stationed in front of Saint Peter's Church. The capacity is 150. You stand at the front door. When they go over you close the door and call me and if you have any problem this state police officer is down the block and he'll come help you."

The IRS Is Being Investigated for Using Location Data Without a Warrant

The body tasked with oversight of the IRS announced in a letter that it will investigate the agency's use of location data harvested from ordinary apps installed on peoples' phones, according to a copy of the letter obtained by Motherboard.

The move comes after Senators Ron Wyden and Elizabeth Warren demanded a formal investigation into how the IRS used the location data to track Americans without a warrant.

"We are going to conduct a review of this matter, and we are in the process of contacting the CI [Criminal Investigation] division about this review," the letter, signed by J. Russell George, the Inspector General, and addressed to the Senators, reads. CI has a broad mandate to investigate abusive tax schemes, bankruptcy fraud, identity theft, and many more similar crimes. Wyden’s office provided Motherboard with a copy of the letter on Tuesday.

Horowitz: Did WHO official just admit that COVID-19 death rate is similar to that of the flu? - TheBlaze

It was the single most impactful fact disseminated by the World Health Organization in influencing the unprecedented global panic over this virus. They claimed in early March that the infection fatality rate (IFR) for COVID-19 was 3.4%. Those of us who paid attention always knew that it was bogus, but how ironic that a top WHO official has now given us the denominator we were looking for, which proves that the fatality rate of this virus is right in line with seasonal flus, although more people will be infected.

VIDEO: Staffer stops father's funeral, orders sons to move away from grieving mom due to COVID rules - TheBlaze

At the start of his father Alan Wright's service Friday at Crownhill Crematorium, the chairs were spread apart to conform to social distancing guidelines. Wright died from a heart attack in September, the Daily Mail reported.

But Craig Bicknell told BBC News he decided to close the distance between himself and his "vulnerable" mother as she was "lost."

"I made everyone aware that I [would] need to comfort my mum at some point," he added to the outlet. "When I saw my mum break as she did, it just took over that I had to comfort her and put my arm around her."

Seconds later, Bicknell's brother followed suit and moved his chair, and both sons were sitting next to their mother.

St. Louis couple indicted for waving guns at protesters

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A grand jury on Tuesday indicted the St. Louis couple who displayed guns while hundreds of racial injustice protesters marched on their private street.

Al Watkins, an attorney for the couple, confirmed to The Associated Press the indictments against Mark McCloskey, 63, and his wife, Patricia McCloskey, 61. A spokeswoman for Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner declined comment.

The McCloskeys, who are both attorneys, have become folk heroes among some conservatives. They argue that they were simply exercising their Second Amendment right to bear arms, and were protected by Missouri’s castle doctrine law that allows the use of deadly force against intruders. The case has caught the attention of President Donald Trump, and Republican Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has said he will pardon the couple if they are convicted.
