I sure hope that wasn't an interrupted legitimate attack. (The guy on the clip seemed to think it was intended but interrupted by US fighter jets).Col. Flagg wrote:Russia flies nuclear-armed bombers over Guam in simulated nuclear strike on the U.S. - Feb. 20, 2013:

I guess when this stuff starts (in full swing) to happen it will happen over night and everything will change. Wake up to the news just breaking of a nuclear attack....crazy. Can you imagine what the world would be like if we were attacked just in 1 spot with a nuclear weapon? How would the US change? Look at everything that has happened in the world because of 911. I have already been amazed at the rapid chain of events, I really can't imagine living through what would happen after an isolated nuclear attack).
It also brings to mind, "wars and rumors of wars".

The United States and Russia have been playing this cat and mouse game since the beginning of the Cold War. Nothing has changed.
The military expert on Fox said, "clearly..." Nothing is clear but two Russian bombers have flown over Guam. How do they know they were armed with nuclear weapons? How do they really know their intent?

in the 70s while on the USS Midway , in the sea of Japan , we stayed on a three day alert , while Bears , Badgers and what ever the Russians had flew over the ship . Sometimes so close we could see the pilots waving at us on the flight deck . it was considered an act of war if the Russians would have opened up their bomb bay doors . that was the 70s , now------------- who knows . bammy has no ba lls.

During the 90's I served in Europe with NATO. NATO used to play a game where troops and equipment would be moved along the 'front'. Units would gradually increase communication with each other and then stop. The anticipation the Russians must have felt about an attack must have driven them crazy.
Both sides sent spooks (our Charlies and Orions and their Bears) to test the other side.
In the Pacific the US and Russians went so far as to play bumper cars with their small boys (warships).
Both sides play the game.
Ironically out of all the military troops my unit got along with the most - it was the Russians.

This kind of thing happens all the time. China sends a warship into the Timor Sea, Australia sends planes to keep an eye on the warship. And so it goes. Back in the cold war days the Russians sending bombers right up to Alaska was common place. Each side test the other all the time. Nothing new here.
