Speeding up the work?

Post by Jarbar »

Then let me go on a mission ASAP!! I don't believe God is the one that made the one year after you're baptized rule to be able to go to the temple. I think it was made by men and has to do with the politics in the church organization.

Faith without works is dead, have some patience,Your patience is being tested with only "one year" that is nothing, compared to the eternal perspective. You may think you are ready, but you are not, there is a lot to learn before heading to the temple and a mission. Waiting one year is not a long time.

And what are you going to preach once you get out there: Hey we have a prophet of God, but his decisions are more politically motivated than revelatory. Want to get baptized?

Doesn't sound like a recipe for success to me.

I would say the key here isn't that you aren't ready to spread the gospel, but temple covenants are a big, big eternal step and you should be preparing as much for that (or more) than you are for serving a mission. Obviously you're eager and willing to serve. Study the gospel (the scriptures) and learn to listen to/recognize the Light of Christ that is in you (your conscience), learn to live by it, and you'll gain more and more confidence in the truths the Spirit teaches, and greater and greater obedience, untill you are able to be directed by the word of God in all things, and then you can truly be His servant --on a mission or not.
