And some people on the forum say psychology is not that important to delve into. :-o

Upcoming Scientific Publication: “(…) governments can and even should move beyond existent levels of public permission in order to shift norms, allowing public sentiment to later catch up with the regulation.”
ooookay.

There's a warning that that video is violent, so I scrolled down while I listened to the report (the report is fine). I did scroll up a bit a few times, and was glad to see the gory parts of the commercial that was being talked about had been blurred.

Personally, I think it is sick and not funny that someone would want to show commercials that blow up people who don't buy into the lie of global warming. I'm glad there was opposition to this sadistic "humor".

I think we are fast heading into a society that matches the Jaredites and the Nephites in their last days of existence. Most of the planet, apparently, is headed for this.

Reading stuff like this:
Government policies are needed when people’s behaviors fail to deliver the public good. Those policies will be most effective if they can stimulate long-term changes in beliefs and norms, creating and reinforcing the behaviors needed to solidify and extend the public good.
shows me how closely this world is following the devil's agenda.

I'm all for eating locally grown food, especially if it comes from our own gardens, using seed we choose.

This is considered bad?
("Potential boomerang effect" - i.e. "Regulations" bring about the undesired behavior below.)

Creating incentive to regain lost freedoms, revealing that bad behaviors are more pervasive than previously believed, crowding out “other-regarding” behavior
Nothing like having a peek at the planning part of the agenda to enslave us.

It's too long. I'll have to print it out to read all of it.

If only what they call a committed 10% of the popilation would do do this (print off the report and share it). Instead they will spend the next few hours watching sports, tuning into prime time TV, play games on Facebook or surf porn; or a combination of these activities. Wonder how Noah felt when the men and women were doing this in his day?

Scary message. Almost as scary is the way the article is written. Here's how I read it:

"We're scientists, so we need the government to pass laws that people are going to hate because they have bad norms but we need public perceptions to change and the only way this will happen is for change to be forced on them by legislation so the government needs to listen to us because we're scientists and we know stuff that the average idiot doesn't and that's why the current level of norms is unacceptable and we need to change those norms and the only way that can be done is to have the government pass laws that will be unpopular but they really need to listen to us and do it anyway 'cause we're really super-dooper smart and those laws will change societal norms which has to happen even though people aren't going to like it but they need it forced on them for their own good which is something only the government can do because people are too stoopid to be ejumcated like we are so they have wrong norms that have to be replaced with proper norms that we dictate to the government who can then pass laws to force people to do the right thing that they wouldn't otherwise do on their own because they're yokels with pig poop in their ears and so we're justified in demanding the government to pass laws the people will hate so the norms can be changed to what we know they need to be even though the averge person refuses to listen to our incredibly smart and hyper-intelligent beliefs because they're too dumb to know better so the government needs to listen to what we say and pass laws that will make people do what they don't want to do so they change their ideas about what norms are because we're really super dooper universe ending smart.

Oh, and the UN needs to be the ones to do this.
