I am hearing and reading suggestions that the increasing awareness of this talk is somehow doing a disservice to the church. The only harm I can think of that might come from this is distraction of Mormons from the principles and messages that are currently being stressed by the church leadership, and irritation on the part of the gadianton robbers who are at risk of being exposed as Mormons begin looking around themselves and awake to what is happening. I can't stop thinking the church leadership might be displeased at the attention this talk has caused to a subject they do not want members to be talking or doing anything about. Has anybody heard or read complaints about the talk becoming known?

Ezra Taft Benson was contacted about the President De Visser Stake Conference talk going viral and this was his reaction:

Anybody know how the Salt Lake Tribune got this story? Did the paper get an accurate version of the text?

I don't know how they originally got the idea to do a story about this talk (it went viral, I even received the talk via email from several people - after it was published on LDSFF). I was contacted by SLTrib's Peggy Fletcher Stack about it. She had a list of questions about the talk and story surrounding it.

Am I the only one who noticed that "Tribune" and Tribulation" are so similar? Idiots.
...Mormons for Obama, however...outraged...
Mormons for Obama? To me, that kind of seems like saying Diabetics for Pixy Stix, Prostitutes for Celibacy, or Politicians (or lawyers) for honesty.
..."He tries to say it is not a political talk," said Crystal Young-Otterstrom, chairwoman of Utah’s LDS Dems Caucus, "but then he uses buzzwords of the Republican Party."
Oh please. Both parties use almost the same buzzwords these days because they're both so screwed up. True, the dumbocraps are MORE screwed up, but neither party really has much of a desire to find liberty these days. However, what I read in the talk emphasized responsibility, something all religious leaders should be preaching. Of course, when you're an Obamao supporter, you're already, by association, either too stupid or too corrupt to take seriously.

Mormons for Obama? Seriously!?

This is like Mormons for the Legalization of Drugs. Mormons for Same-Sex Marriage. Mormons against the LDS Church. Mormons against the Current Prophet. Mormons against Joseph Smith. Mormons against the Book of Mormon. I just don't get 'members' these days!

The comments section have so many people wanting church leaders to tell them what they want to hear.
They want to hear that economy is going to be alright. That Obama is leading them in the right direction. There is no danger with an ever increasingly powerful central government.

I can only imagine the uproar if one of the general authorities gave a talk at the next General Conference about the dangers of socialism.

great talk... I guess most dont realize but the secret combinations have gotten above us and have slowly and subtly changed our laws which give them more power and control over us.. Republicans and Democrats are both just puppets for the bankers with the money and it DOES NOT MATTER who gets elected anymore because the same agenda keeps on rolling..

I don't know who this stake president is, or his political views, or the current state of affairs in Sandy, Utah.

One thing I do know, after reading his talk: He is quite inspired and quite awake.

The only Mormons I could see being for Obama are those that are misguided into believing that the Law of Consecration is a glorified socialism. Because most of what Obama stands for, the Church stands against.

Well, then he can leave with his head held high for having the courage to say the truth. He can be like Samuel the Lamanite - speak the truth and then disappear quietly back into life. His family would certainly have more time with him.

What makes that example so interesting is that Samuel came from outside of the church hierarchy. Was he a member? Probably, but he certainly wasn't in a leadership position. He was never seen more amongst the Nephites, and even Nephi didn't give his words the respect the Lord thought he should have. He was "a prophet", absolutely, but certainly not "THE prophet", and because Christ himself chastized Nephi for not including his words, they were added to our scripture. My question is, will this prophet you are hoping we see call us to repentance be from within the leadership of the church, or will he really be like Samuel and be a "nobody"...or will we see both?

Personally, I think we've passed the point of no return as far as the freedoms within this government system are concerned. That is not to say that we shouldn't continue doing everything we can to support freedom, whatever that may be, but I think it'll be the final call to repentance that we hear prior to the Lord showing forth His arm, and not just repentance for letting the LGD's reign over us.

Interesting perspective! Thank you.

After watching the London Olympics 'ceremony' and YouTube videos of the recent 1/2 time 'entertainment' for our annual football circus, I am gravely concerned over increasingly public acceptance of Satanic symbolism and ritual.

Politics are absolutely corrupt...in some cases evil, but this public display of luciferian worship NEEDS to be 'called out'!

Brother DeVisser spoke the truth regarding our 'awful state'.

The lines are being drawn ever more clearly. Each one of us must choose to carry a banner for either lucifer or for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Buff-girl,

Can you explain what symbolism you are referring to?

I guess I can't really recommend watching the 1/2 time show since it is terribly inappropriate. I've watched a couple of commentaries on the Beyonce performance which break down the illuminati symbolism. Alex Jones comments on it, as does Mark Dice on YouTube.

Here's the Beyonce performance. I certainly cannot recommend watching it, however.

A couple of excellent lines in above posts that I believe are "right on":

"the secret combinations have gotten above us"

"we've passed the point of no return as far as the freedoms within this government system are concerned. That is not to say that we shouldn't continue doing everything we can to support freedom, whatever that may be, but I think it'll be the final call to repentance that we hear prior to the Lord showing forth His arm, and not just repentance for letting the LGD's reign over us."

"Well, then he [President DeVisser] [ like Dr.Jones] can leave with his head held high for having the courage to say the truth. He can be like Samuel the Lamanite [and - speak the truth and then disappear quietly back into life. His family would certainly have more time with him."
