What REALLY freaks you out?
My kids think I'm nuts but clowns freak me out. I HATE them. Also every time I see them I can't help but think of John Wayne Gacy.

Little shocking and a bit disturbing Sadie.
Bees freak me out, especially the dark wasp kind and the giant bumble bees. Always sends me running and yelling/screaming.

Re: What REALLY freaks you out?
I have a deal with bees and other stinging insects. They leave me alone, I leave them alone. This allows me to walk through flower gardens teeming with the little buzzers without a moment's worry.
On the other hand I HATE most other insects. They're kill on sight inside the house, and I avoid them outdoors. I'm not a big fan of clowns either, especially after watching IT.
But what REALLY freaks me out? Any high place where my position isn't 100% certain. Especially angled surfaces with nothing to hold onto. I'm literally paralyzed, unable to do anything but try to escape in the safest possible way.

Re: What REALLY freaks you out?
My ex was petrified of heights. So of course the prankster I can be this was a cue for me to run with it. Once I took him to the Sears building in Chicago. He had no idea what he was getting into. My back hurt from crying so much. I just couldn't stop laughing. At least once a year I'd trick him into something that would take him out of his comfort zone in heights!Fairminded wrote:But what REALLY freaks me out? Out of all God's creations... I believe spiders are actually of the devil. I have had countless spider nightmares. Mostly black widows. Obviously there are more "scary" things out there but it seems this one fits the conversation better. If I get near spiders or kill one... I instantly start to get itchy and my mind entertains the idea that the spider somehow had a buddy I missed that is crawling around in my hair.

Did you ever see that program I think it was on TLC channel about the woman who kept thinking bugs/spiders had been crawling all over her body. She had pulled all her hair out on her head! Plus other terrible things she did to herself. She had made herself crazy I felt so bad for her.BrotherSmith12 wrote:Out of all God's creations... I believe spiders are actually of the devil. Re: What REALLY freaks you out?
The same day as the meteor exploded over Russia and the asteroid passed by earth I saw these 6 planes passing overhead. This occurred just as I was coming back to work from lunch. When I first spotted them they were coming directly at me and appeared to be going straight into the sky. To me they almost looked like missiles. Considering that last summer I could see the contrail from the missile launched from New Mexico, it was not beyond my reasoning think perhaps that they were missiles. After watching them for a few minutes, and watching them turn and head west I realized that they were military aircraft. My guess is the Blue Angels or the Thunder Birds, however it could be regular Air force going somewhere. This is the third time I have seen them pass over head. The first time was back in 2005. It did freak me out for a few minutes though.

Spiders are my least favorite too- esp black widows and wolf spiders which we have here....shudder...the rest I can deal with. Those two species make me run everytime

Re: What REALLY freaks you out?
Earwigs. And spiders.
One night in Korea, I was sleeping on the bed and I kept having this crawly feeling come over my arm. The rest of the family was on the floor where we normally slept, but I was pregnant so I was on the one twin-sized bed. I would kind of half wake up but not enough to think about it or figure out what it was. Finally I woke up enough to think and realized that a spider was crawling on my arm. I sat up with a shriek and turned on the light. My husband woke right up and asked me what was wrong. I sleepily told him about the spider and was trying to figure out what to do about it, since I couldn't see the spider anymore, when I felt something running up my chest out of my pajamas.
I screamed and blindly batted at the spider, succeeding in dashing it to the floor. It was laying there, much too close to one of my sleeping babies, wriggling helplessly with a few legs missing. My husband, acting first, thinking later, jumped across the room and started hitting my arms and chest, having no idea where the offending spider was but bound and determined to protect me from it. Finally I pointed him in the right direction and he heroically finished the offender off and disposed of him.
I was terrified for a while and refused to sleep on the bed for some time. I refused even to sleep in our mosquito tents, except for the one that was completely enclosed. I got over it eventually, but it took quite some time.

Re: What REALLY freaks you out?
This might freak you out more then: the ads on this site are based partly on the words used each page, but also on other certain other ads and sites you have looked at recently that use the same advertising engine (looks like the Google one here). For example, if you search for something on Amazon.com or Backcountry.com you'll see ads for that or related things here on LDSFF. Same things for google searches that have been done on your computer and such, they influence the ad selection. Ads show up according to a profile for you (or your computer, or a certain identifier the ad engine uses) that is built up from all sorts of interactions with different sites that give advertisers a clue about what you might be interested in.BringerOfJoy wrote:The fact that an advertising banner was for contributions for the support of Gay Marriage was on THIS forum today. @-) :ymsigh: :ymsick:
If you (or someone using your computer) has been searching for gay marriage info or reading lots of those articles, or if it was mentioned frequently in a thread here on the site, then you can count on enjoying such ads.

Re: What REALLY freaks you out?
I looked up car donations a while ago and now all I get are "Donate your car" ads.
I don't have a car. I hoping to have one donated to me!
