Superbowl Dodge Farmer commercial

OK So up front. I did not watch the super bowl. Sports don't pay my bills so I don't touch the stuff. However after checking out the blaze this morning they had a post on "On the 8th day God made the farmer" by Paul Harvey. Great commercial, only because Paul Harvey's speech was used. He spoke of an American work ethic that no longer exists.

Most of the farms if not all shown in the video were corporate farms, receiving tax payer subsidies. Most were showing row crops, not the type of farming Harvey was describing back in 1978. Row crops deplete the soil.

Dodge, just about made me choke. My last five work trucks have all been Ford 3/4 ton made in the USA. Granted ford owns a 51% controlling stake in Cummins and Cummins did take a bailout. ford corporate did not take a bailout, and the Cummins/ Allison combination is the only thing on a Dodge worth anything. You go to South or Central America and you find Cummins in Ford trucks. All over in Brazil companies order Ford trucks with the Cummins powering it.

Funny now that I think about it in Iraq I never saw a Dodge purchased for the Iraqi government or US use in the FOBs. Just Ford 1 ton and GMC rigs. Guess Dodge can't take the real heat.

It's not that I am trying to bash on Dodge it is just that this commercial was anti American in so many ways.

As long as Fiat Chrysler is Italian owned I won't buy it. As long as the Hummer is made by the Chinese, I will crawl over it in my lifted Excursion. Small Family Famers Rock! And they drive Fords! and for the record 3 of our 4 tractors are also American made.

Thanks for clarifying for me moving2zion.

I did like Harvey's words though. He moved me. Someone related to him should do his temple work.
