"Second Term Begins With a Sweeping Agenda for Equality," ran the eight-column banner in which The Washington Post captured the essence of Obama's second inaugural.

There he declared: "What binds this nation together ... what makes us exceptional — what makes us American — is our allegiance to an idea, articulated in a declaration made more than two centuries ago."

Obama then quoted our Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Our "union," Obama went on, was "founded on the principles of liberty and equality."

Nice prose — and transparent nonsense.

How could the American Union have been founded on the principle of equality, when "equality" is not mentioned in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights or the Federalist papers? How could equality be a founding principle of a nation, six of whose 13 original states had legalized slavery, and five of whose first seven presidents owned slaves all their lives?

What Obama preached in his inaugural was not historical truth but progressive propaganda, an Orwellian rewrite of American history.

Undeniably, the post-Civil War 13th, 14th and 15th amendments established an equality of constitutional rights. And from the Brown decision of 1954 through the civil rights acts of the 1960s, there was established an equality of civil rights. Black Americans were assured equal access to schools, public accommodations, the voting booth and housing. And Congress and the people overwhelmingly supported those laws.

But if the nation did not establish equality of constitutional rights until the 1860s and equality of civil rights until the 1960s, how can Obama claim that "equality" has been the feature that "makes us American" and "binds this nation together."

How can he say that our commitment to equality is what makes us "exceptional" — when every Western country believes in equal rights for all of its citizens, and it was the French Revolution, not ours, that elevated "egalite" to a founding principle.

And when he says equality "is the star that guides us still," exactly what kind of equality is Obama talking about?

Answer: The equality of which Obama speaks is not an equality of rights but an equality of results, an idea that dates not to the Founding Fathers, who would have been appalled by the idea, but to the 1960s.

This equality is not a founding principle of the republic. It is ideological contraband. For such equality can only be achieved at the price of freedom, our true founding principle.

That idea that "all of us are created equal — is the star that guides us still," said Obama in his inaugural, "just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall."

Astonishing. The president is here making the brazen claim that the roots of modern feminism and gay rights can be traced straight back to the Founding Fathers and founding principles of our republic.

But how? The sanctum sanctorum of modern feminism is Roe v. Wade, the discovery of a constitutional right to an abortion. Yet, for every generation of Americans before 1973, abortion was a heinous crime.

And can anyone seriously argue that a barroom brawl with cops by homosexual patrons of Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village in 1969 was but another battle in the long war for liberty begun at Lexington, Concord and Bunker Hill?

How could that be, when the author of the declaration Obama cites, Thomas Jefferson, believed homosexuality should be treated as rape, and George Washington ordered homosexuals drummed out of his army?

What Obama was attempting at the Capitol, with his repeated lifts from Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, was to portray his own and his party's egalitarianism as a continuation of the great causes that triumphed at Yorktown and Appomattox.

He is hijacking the American Revolution, claiming an ancestral lineage for his ideology that is utterly fraudulent and bogus.

Feminism, the gay rights movement and the post-1965 civil rights movement, with their demand for equality not simply of rights but of rewards, cannot be achieved without trampling on the freedoms for which the patriot fathers fought. And they cannot triumph without creating a permanent, mammoth and redistributionist state more powerful, intrusive and dictatorial than anything George III ever dreamed of.

The freedom of all Americans to compete academically, athletically, artistically and economically must inevitably result in an inequality of incomes, wealth and rewards.

Why? Because all men and women are by nature and nurture unequal. Some are talented, ambitious, industrious, lucky. And in a free society, such men and women will always reap a disproportionate share of fame and fortune.

The only way to equalize rewards is to take from those who have earned and give to those who have not. And that requires the kind of redistributionst regime the Founding Fathers would have risen up against.

As Obama's America rises, the old republic falls.

When he stood before the world to deliver his first inaugural address four years ago, President Barack Obama proudly declared, "We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non-believers." Early in his presidency, he repeated various permutations of this phrase, always reserving the resonant final spot for the "non-believers."

During his first term, Obama also occasionally edited the Creator from the Declaration of Independence.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident," he said, for example, in a Sept. 15, 2010, speech, "that all men are created equal, endowed with certain inalienable rights: life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Judging from his first-term rhetoric, Obama did not deem belief in God and deference to His authority essential elements in his own vision for America.

Yet, in the opening of his second inaugural address, Obama spoke the actual words of the Declaration, and then made them a recurring theme of his speech. "We hold these truths to be self-evident," he said, "that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

"While freedom is a gift from God," he said, "it must be secured by His people here on Earth."

Why did Obama do this? Is he now an apostate to the secularist cause?

The president provided a strong clue later in his speech, when he returned to the theme of men being created equal.

"Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law," he said. "For if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal, as well."

This statement was simultaneously an appeal for the gay-rights agenda — which, for Obama, now expressly includes same-sex marriage — and an apparent claim that God is on the side of this agenda.

In the past, Obama has gone so far as to deride St. Paul's Letter to the Romans precisely because it condemns homosexual behavior.

"All too often I have sat in church and heard a pastor use gay bashing as a cheap parlor trick — 'It was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!' he will shout, usually when the sermon is not going so well," wrote Obama.

"I am not willing to have the state deny American citizens a civil union that confers equivalent rights on such basic matters as hospital visitation or health insurance coverage simply because the people they love are of the same sex — nor am I willing to accept an obscure line in Romans to be more defining of Christianity than the Sermon on the Mount," he said.

In the passage Obama is no doubt referencing here, St. Paul said: "For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.

"For this reason," said St. Paul, "God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."

Jesus Christ, reaffirming Genesis, defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

The truth is: A public policy vision that not only advances same-sex marriage, a "right" to abort an unborn child and now also a government commandment that forces Christians to act against their faith by compelling them to provide and pay for abortion-inducing drugs cannot be reconciled with the Bible or with the "Laws of Nature and Nature's God."

So, why did Obama concede in his second inaugural address that our rights come from our Creator? Perhaps it was for the same reason he invoked "our Constitution" and "fidelity to our founding principles." Perhaps he was not seeking to reaffirm an ancient truth, but redefine the very foundation of our society.

Utah Sheriffs Warn Obama: 'No Federal Official Will Be Allowed' To Take Our Constituents' Gun Rights

A group of Utah sheriffs sent a letter to President Barack Obama last week stating that they will not enforce any new gun laws they believe to be unconstitutional.

28 of the 29 sheriffs in Utah signed off on the letter with only the Salt Lake County Sheriff, Jim Winder, opting out.

Summit County Sheriff David Edmunds says, "We are prepared to trade our lives in defense of the constitution of the United States."

Edmunds says the letter is a preemptive strike against the possibility of the president banning assault rifles, or restricting the amount of ammo in magazines.

The letter to the President states (emphasis added): "We, like you swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation."

"[P]lease remember the Founders of this great nation created the Constitution, and its accompanying Bill of Rights, in an effort to protect citizens from all forms of tyrannical subjugation."

While acknowledging respect for Obama's office, the sheriffs also issued a warning:

"[M]ake no mistake, as the duly-elected sheriffs of our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights-in particular Amendment II-has given them."

Sheriff Edmunds stated:

"We would never want violence to be the alternative. We would always hope we could talk this out but it's important to make this very significant stance as it relates to these issues because they are very fundamental to the freedoms we enjoy in this country."

God also said that this land, the promised land, would never be ruled by a wicked king, did he not? Why on earth would God tell us to be aware of LDG's and not do something about them? Why didn't He add this..."but if they decide to subject you under tyranny, do whatever they tell you? Think about this, if government takes complete control over Americans...this also includes the church being subjected under tyranny. Subdued church means negated missionary work. Would God want us to lay down and let tyranny take complete control over our lives?


Are these statements all false?
So emphatic was God about this point that He commanded through His servant Jacob that “there shall be no kings upon the land, who shall raise up unto the Gentiles” (2 Nephi 10:11). God further declared that He will “fortify this land against all other nations,” “that [he who] fighteth against Zion shall perish,” “that [he who] raiseth up a king against me shall perish,” and that He would “destroy the secret works of darkness,” which would seek to overthrow this free government (2 Nephi 10:11-15; compare to Ether 8:23-25). When the Lord visited the Nephites after His resurrection, He prophesied that the Gentiles would be “established in this land” and “be set up as a free people by the power of the Father” (3 Nephi 21:4).


If we as Latter-day Saints think that this warning is directed against our “Gentile” neighbors, we should ask ourselves how they could be responsible for this divine mandate when they don’t even know it exists. This means that the burden is on us much more than it is on our fellow citizens, because greater light and understanding have been revealed to us through God’s prophets. Since we have been
“identified with the Gentiles” (D&C 109:60), then the warning is directed squarely at ourselves. But God has not left us without guidance. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ declared that we should befriend “that law which is the constitutional law of the land” (D&C 98:6), and that we should seek out “honest 63 men and wise men…diligently” to represent us. And, we should “observe to uphold” “good men and wise men” in office (D&C 98:10). Otherwise, the wicked will rule, and we will mourn (D&C 98:9).
The prophets have minced no words regarding our responsibility to befriend the Constitution, and to ensure that the inspired form of government God gave us remains intact. We cannot and must not shirk this duty.

I had a conversation with a friend about this 2nd amendment business and what Obama intends and he said something that caught my ear. He said Obama knows Americans will not give up their guns and he’s counting on this to pit those who what gun control against those who claim it as their right vouchsafed in the U.S. Constitution. In other words he is planning division of American against American and hopes it will lead to a civil war which will justify him to call in the calvary to reestablish law and order by U.N. troops (the second beast Rev.13:11-12). If most of our military is off in these foreign countries like Afghanistan or if we are at war with Iran by then along with the preoccupation of the vast majority of our military maintaining American Empire with 130 U.S. bases throughout the world; through into this mix the drug lords south of our boarder with guns Obama provided them in Operation Fast and Furious who see an advantage to invade while were fighting among ourselves and trying to ward off U.N. troops wellllllllllll…I’m thinking at this point only priesthood power is the only thing that will protect us. What do you think?

To Geek's above question ".... priesthood power is the only thing that will protect us...": Protect us from what ? "[F]rom the nuclear holocausts that surely shall be", as Bruce R. McConkie suggested in a 1978 conference address ? From gun confiscation ? From the effects of our apostacy in various ways from the US Constitution ?

I think it will be a combination of all three. I do feel that the government will resort to depraved things, possibly even asking for every one of us down to our children to go out and kill whomever they deem enemies, which will end up including faithful members of the church as well as righteous nonmembers, like the people of King Jacob of Jacobugath, or the people of Ammonihah did, or as Ahab and Jezebel in the Old Testament. If people wonder how I came to speculate this, Wilford Woodruff did prophesy about how Albany, NYC, and Boston, would receive total destruction unless they repented. Total destruction, as described by Samuel the Lamanite could be justified on the condition that the people either kill off and/or or completely expel the righteous from among them, given these conditions, it is surmiseable that these three cities, and possibly many more, could resort to such depraved measures.

With the world in such depravity, and disorder from so much violence, there can happen a nuclear holocaust with people in such dire disorder, in fact, enemies of the United States, seeing that the nation isn't so unified anymore, as well as falling apart and also consumed with the same frenzy, could be as reckless as to unleash a nuclear holocaust, with some of the planet being spared thanks to God, a large part being desolate for a time, but the Earth will ultimately be cleansed and renewed, and Jesus will come in all his glory. However, I empathize a little bit in the horrid details with what Mormon iterated as being among a few Nephites still left alive, because like him, it will be sad to see how a nation so blessed in it's founding could turn to such a level of depravity as to suffer such a self-destructive fate of both the Jaredite and Nephite nations before it.

I don't think the church will tell us to give up ours guns. The 2nd Amendment is part of the Constitution. The Lord told us in D&C to befriend the Constitution. Scripture confirms that the Constitution is the law of the land. How could the church or anyone one in authority in it go against scripture...unless God says the Constitution is no longer valid?
I agree, I don't think the church will specifically order that, but you will still have to choose to go with the church, or join with the world and it's enemies. I also think that the Lord never really has to single guns out when he really despises all unjustified violence, and it doesn't matter whether you use your bare hands, kitchen silverware, arrows, or swords to kill people, it's all the same. I doubt Cain needed a gun to murder Abel, and I also doubt that Porter Rockwell was neccessarily evil for using a gun for intimidation purposes when acting as the prophet's bodyguard.
