Two examples come to my mind quickly... I used to be in a highly political ward with big name DC politicos. Mostly liberal with the Mormon liberal mindset. As I write this I am thinking of 5 individuals who were active and endowed etc who have either divorced, or left the church or both because they thought that the church's stance on social issues was wrong. Others are still active but seem to be floundering in their attendance. The former Relief Society president is inactive. Too much thinking they know better than the church leaders.

Second subject, a kid my brothers age from my home ward and moved away years ago. I found him on Facebook, a return missionary now writing books about how the LDS prophets are in secret cabals with government officials and using secret handshakes and leading the church away from true principles.

it's sad to watch these church members falling away but I fully expect many more to unravel this way too. I wonder if this Mormon Feminism movement will lead many away too once the church leadership doesn't give them what they want.
