Things of the past
Does anyone remember what TV program played the first part of this piece at the beginning of the show?

I thought there were a few people living in Utah on this forum. I also thought there would be at least one person that knew the answer to my question, or at least had an older relative that knew. Either that or no one gives a darn about it. Well I'm not providing the answer until someone comes forward with it.

Years ago "Popsicle" had a dark green Popsicle that tasted like licorice, and another blue one that tasted like raspberry. Any recollection?

Listening to this now, I think Morris sounds.....a little light in his loafers, or should I say paws.

I owned one of these when I was six. I used it so much it broke right where the foot platform connected to the steering rod, at the hinge.

I do remember the blue one but not sure why I can't remember the green licorice flavored one...freedomfighter wrote:Years ago "Popsicle" had a dark green Popsicle that tasted like licorice, and another blue one that tasted like raspberry. Any recollection?

The game you posted looks familiar. Is it a vintage game? I don't mean the newer ones you see now. We played that game when I was young and the picture seems to bring back as to the exact looks of that game from that era, or close to it.

Re: Things of the past
Yes, it is vintage. I was born in the early 60s and my maternal grandma had a Chinese checker game set that she let us kids play with when we were at her house. It looked similar to the pic I posted....

You had fun on it, that's what's important. In the fifties metal was still "IN".ajax wrote:I only had this: My friend has this: X( X(

Re: Things of the past
Speaking of the fifties, here is an area of Salt Lake I lived in.
Highlights are:
Ensign Peak
Wasatch Springs, torn down a long time ago
Old Wasatch Elementary, torn down and rebuilt
Old Gravity Hill, closed off to traffic years ago. One drove just a little distance, stopped and the car would roll backwards, even though it appeared you had been driving downhill.
