Hello
I converted to the Church in 1990 and was married for 18 years.
Got divorced and pretty much left the church, it was weird, ugly and I felt the church was manipulated by my ex.
I did get custody of my twin girls when they were 9, and today am a single father of 15 year old freshmen in high school.
I didn't have anything to do with the church until last year when I attended Easter service.
I started going to some services with my girls until my ex who has been inactive since our divorce became aware of this and created some conflict. I immediately withdrew and haven't been back until recently.
I spoke with a Bishop who I felt I had some lingering misunderstandings and mis-communications.
I felt like we cleared the air and I established my twins and their records are under my jurisdiction.
We have recently been going back to services and one of my daughters is attending YWs.
I don't have the 'faith' in the church that I did at one time, but I do believe as I always have that God works through the Church and it's people. The recent positions of the Church regarding LGBT I have found interesting and am waiting for clarification. I have never thought of Monson in the same category as the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley or Ezra Taft Benson, but that is just me.
I have tried to attend other churches but have not found anywhere I feel comfortable.
I am going one day at a time and finding my way.

Re: Hello
Sounds like you are on a great journey
And good luck with the kids
I was from an inactive family
My sister and I came back to church when i was 16, i got baptised, etc
i felt something
it was logical to me, this church, the restoration, and square with scripture
20 plus years later i am learning christ leads the world, including the church, and not me
i love the gospel even more for it
don't let man get in your way of the saviour
cheers bro
