She's very cute. I like most food to be very simple, and I guess that will serve me well in the event of an economic collapse.

They egg drop soup is my favorite.

I had been using these recipes over the last year, so I thought I would share them.

I had been 'practicing' with my storage and my neighbor who is willing to trade their organic eggs for other stuff... like carrots LOL

(They are the only lot that is allowed in this area to have chickens (no rooster just hens)

I find a few tears in my eyes remembering my mother and how she prepared her many variations of the same meals. I remember especially how much I enjoyed those simple meals, mom would be tired, and she would apologize for serving such "meager" fare.--- We'd dive in for seconds and thirds, complaining that there was not enough for a fourth serving. One of my favorites being potatoes, onions, greens, and eggs together, fried in bacon drippings!

Clara is as sweet as my mom!

I saw Clara's videos about a year ago and her Egg drop soup and Poor man's meal have become some of our family's staple menu items. Last year we got laying hens for the first time, so we use our own eggs for the egg drop soup. I found it's more tasty if some chicken broth is used instead of just plain water. And salt is the key.
Soggy bread is not my favorite thing, so after trying several different breads, we found we love home made biscuts with our soup (on the side, not soggy).

I didn't want to introduce the Poor Man's Meal with that name, so when I served it the first time and it was a hit, we discussed over the dinner table what we should call it. My kids came up with "Hot diggity hash". I thought it was cute and it has stuck.
