That's slightly east of where I had the dream of the 6 pointer a month ago or so...

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
Those are small quakes, of course, much larger quakes are possible for the Wasatch fault zone.
LDSguy notes --solar flares coming towards the earth. These can produce EMPulses that can affect satellites and the power grid.

ABCnews:
The sun has had three major solar flares on its surface in the past two days that have affected communications on Earth and could send a shockwave through Earth this Friday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The “solar events” caused brief blackouts in high frequency communications when they struck, twice on Tuesday morning and once this morning, all between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. EDT.
Solar Flares Disrupt Communications on Earth, Could Send Shockwave on Friday the 13th
Three X-class flares erupted from the left side of the sun; the first two from left occurred June 10, 2014, and the last occurred June 11, 2014. (Goddard/SDO/NASA)
Solar flares are bursts of radiation on the sun’s surface. The disturbance to Earth’s atmosphere can disrupt GPS and communications signals, according to NASA.
One of the flares created a “coronal mass ejection” that actually could come into contact with Earth on Friday, according to NOAA. The ejection is essentially a huge cloud of plasma that could hit the Earth and cause a shock wave, affecting communications systems. If an ejection were to hit Earth on Friday, scientists expect it would only cause a minor geo-magnetic storm, according to NOAA.
The flares were observed by NASA, which posted stunning photos and videos of the events on its website.

And...we had 'normal' weather here in ND yesterday!
Our spring began with the frost level down to 7 feet, very dry soil, small grains being planted a month or more later than usual, & NO rainfall to germinate the seed.
Until...yesterday!!!
Joel 2
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
"As early as 1883, G.K. Gilbert recognized and warned of the serious earthquake threat posed by active faults in Utah.
Four segments of the Wasatch Fault are overdue for a magnitude 7 - 7.5 earthquake.
Liquefaction is a hazard associated with underlying conditions that exist in the Salt Lake valley."
This is why I choose NOT to purchase in the area, despite the LOW prices and great bargains available, and the fact that this area was CHOSEN for LDS settlement and development.
The questions I cannot resolve is WHY?
Was it to keep non members away, and that The Lord will protect despite these obvious hazards ?

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
First time ever that the "earthquake intensity level" has gone over the meter reading i.e. over 51 +5 magnitude earthquakes in the last 7 days.
In more than a year that I have been watching this earthquake site it is only the second time I have seen it in the red.

The quake hit at 6:58 p.m about 3 miles southeast of Spring City, data from the Seismograph Stations website shows.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
Actually, a 4.1 can cause more problems than you might think and is easily felt. In the past week, there has now been a small EQ north of Salt Lake City and south of Salt Lake City. :-sfarfromhome wrote:4.1 is not very big; might have been felt.KSL news:

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
I watch my all magnitude earthquake map every day and there's been little earthquakes all up and down the central spine of mountains in Utah and northern Arizona, then connecting with the mess of earthquakes that has been going on in Nevada (which connects to California) every day for the last couple weeks at least.Col. THanks, NorthStar, SmallFarm and Flagg.
Rec'd an email from Mayor Monnette -- he definitely felt the EQ Saturday evening about 7pm. He was in "Victory Hall" in down town Spring City when it hit.

I don't know if it'll give you the same settings I have but I set mine to show earthquakes of any magnitude for the past 24 hrs.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
Yeah Bob things are getting serious. I have a geology background and look at earthquakes daily - there is more connectivity between global fault zones, and external influences (solar, cosmic interference) than what is generally excepted. The earth seems to be loosing it's structural integrity - take note of all the sinkholes.
The first comment by Shara on the article you posted indicates that we are not the only ones to taking note.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
I haven't seen any reports on the 5.1ish that took place around Duncan, AZ. Did some damage at the stake center there and was felt in Tucson. This is rare for these parts.

USGS seems to be doing everything it can to make its data incomprehensible to the ordinary internet browser. Hey! If you don't know about it, it shouldn't be a concern, right?
This list seems a little more thorough:

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
I've been following the latest earthquake updates via the QuakeFeed app for iPhone. The latest recorded earthquake activity in my state (Utah) was: 2.8, 4.2, 2.6, and 3.1 magnitude quakes in Mount Pleasant on June 28th (all on the same day).
I know California and Oklahoma have been experiencing swarms of earthquakes. I read that swarms are usually precursors to something much bigger impending.
