Judgmental, but....
I am sure I am being judgmental, but I really believe that with tonights results in UT, the LDS deserve whatever God wants to throw their way.
I figured if RP came in 2nd, no matter how distant, Mitt winning could be chalked up to mass ignorance. However with McCain coming in 2nd, I am more inclined to chalk it up to mass apostasy of the members of the Church.
Provo being the #1 porn capital in the US per capita, SL being home to the 2nd biggest gay pride parade in the country, massive demanding of fascistic socialism, etc, all in direct conflict with the revealed word of God, and now this?
Judgmental? Good chance. Am I wrong? Help me to see the light.

You hit the jackpot!! Yea!! You win!
They are not listening to the spirit.
I remember a quote posted before was something to the effect that men don't learn until they've seen a ghost. People need to be jolted into reality. People are too focused on material possessions.
The conditions of this election were too ironic to be a coincidence. It had to be a test.
Alma 10:5-7 I said I never had known much of these things; but behold, I mistake, for I have seen much of his mysteries and his marvelous power; yea, even in the preservation of the lives of this people. Nevertheless, I did harden my heart, for I was called many times and I would not hear; therefore I knew concerning these things, yet I would not know; therefore I went on rebelling against God, in the weckedness of my heart, even until the fourth day of this seventh month, which is the tenth year of the reign of the judges. As I was journeying to see a very near kindred, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto me ....

CHH quoted a real good scripture about this in the testimony meeting thread from Helaman.
I also suggested that this may be a form of apostasy we are seeing. People dont want change they want status quo and whatever inconveniences them the least. Maybe we will see some big things happening in the church soon

Perhaps, because no First Presidency talks have been given in a few decades that have outlined the combine in unmistakable language, many have come to conveniently think of it as something far less tangible than it really is, and hence, it's out of their hands and they have no obligation to confront it. They've maybe even gotten the idea that they are not supposed to know anything concrete about it, as the mere knowledge might jeopardize them. Even studying the Constitution could seem like an invitation to trouble, as it might stir up those monster-in-the-closet forces against them, and they could face quandries while 'uninsured' by the Spirit, as if they've driven their car down into Mexico, or something. Meanwhile, other valiant people ARE facing the combine, slowing it down through exposure, and enlightening others to what's in the balance - like Ron Paul. It's frustrating that today he was roundly rejected by most of us Mormons, in favor of a globalist LDS-brand candidate. Gross darkness, I think.
May I recommend that you all go find copies of "Say 'No!' to the New World Order" (1987) by Gary Allen (None Dare Call It Conspiracy)? It's like a 2x4 across the back of the head. Anyone who reads it will gain a crystal-clear understanding of what's going on in the world today. This book is remarkable in that it is now 21 years old, but completely descriptive of our awful situation. The globalists' agenda has been advancing steadily, and they are now starting to take their gloves off. This is shaping up to likely be a formative year for many folks.

Is Provo really #1 for porn?!!!
Wow if that's true. Shameful.
I am so excited and worried about giving a talk on Captain Moroni in a couple weeks. This message needs to be heard, and it seems like more and more bishops are being inspired to share it. My bishop actually doesn't know me very well, though I visit teach his wife. He's a new bishop and my husband and I have been in primary almost as long as we've been in the ward, which is only two years. I'm not sure why he would have chosen me and not someone that he knows is awake, unless he really didn't know where it would lead... hmmm... So I'm taking it as inspiration and doing a lot of praying that I'll present it as the Lord would have it presented, not as I would.
It's amazing how so many of us cannot see the level of wickedness even among the saints.

The Saints to be Tried
Gerald N. Lund, The Coming of the Lord , p.73-75
Gerald N. Lund, The Coming of the Lord , p.73-75
President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote in one of his works of how these judgments will be withheld from the Church if its members would faithfully keep their commandments.
All of these things will be withheld while the nations are being punished, if the members of the Church will keep faithfully their commandments. If they will not, then we have received the warning that we, like the rest of the world, shall suffer His wrath in justice.10
President Heber C. Kimball, who knew the Prophet Joseph Smith well, and who was first counselor to President Brigham Young for many years, spoke of when Salt Lake City would become one of the wicked cities of the world as the saints turned their hearts to worldly wealth. He prophesied of the trials that would come upon them.
Our sons and daughters must live pure lives so as to be prepared for what is coming.
After a while the gentiles will gather by the thousands to this place, and Salt Lake City will be classed among the wicked cities of the world. A spirit of speculation and extravagance will take possession of the Saints, and the results will be financial bondage.
Persecution comes next and all true Latter-day Saints will be tested to the limit. Many will apostatize and others will be still not knowing what to do ....
Before that day comes, however, the Saints will be put to tests that will try the integrity of the best of them. The pressure will become so great that the more righteous among them will cry unto the Lord day and night until deliverance comes.11
Brigham Young spoke of the problems that would come upon the saints if they did not remain faithful.
If the Latter-day Saints do not desist from running after the things of this world, and begin to reform and do the work the Father has given them to do, they will be found wanting, and they, too, will be swept away and counted as unprofitable servants.12
Some years earlier, while touring Davis, Weber, Box Elder and Cache Counties in Utah, President Young had spoken of the majority of people being righteous in the Church and the effect it would have.
There is one principle I would like to have the Latter-day Saints perfectly understand-that is, of blessings and cursings. For instance, we read that war, pestilence, plagues, famine, etc., will be visited upon the inhabitants of the earth; but if distress through the judgments of God comes upon this people, it will be because the majority have turned away from the Lord. Let the majority of the people turn away from the Holy Commandments which the Lord has delivered to us, and cease to hold the balance of power in the Church, and we may expect the judgments of God to come upon us; but while six-tenths or three-fourths of this people will keep the commandments of God, the curse and judgments of the Almighty will never come upon them, though we will have trials of various kinds, and the elements to contend with-natural and spiritual elements .... 13
Perhaps one last citation from another president will serve to conclude the array of evidence about the judgments of God coming upon his own house. President Wilford Woodruff summed it up very briefly and yet very succinctly, when he said:
Zion is not going to be moved out of her place. The Lord will plead with her strong ones, and if she sins he will chastise her until site is purified before the Lord. I do not pretend to tell how much sorrow you or I are going to meet with before the coming of the Son of Man. That will depend upon our conduct.14
