Guardrails

Post by wolfman »

May I share some thoughts?
Life is like driving a treacherous mountain road. The commandments are like guardrails, they don’t restrict us they keep us safe! In real life if you see someone hit the guard rail and go over the edge you don’t point your finger and judge them, you rush down to their aid and make sure their OK and do all in your power to help them. After going up and down the road enough times you got certain sections of the road mastered and you don’t even need the guard rails. (You don't need to be commanded because you're already doing it)

The church is like a hospital; sometimes you're the nurse and sometimes you're the patient. OK I'm done with my analogies now.

Awesome. I've used the hospital one, but I love the guardrail analogy.

Love it! Life isn't a race against each other, if someone needs help we should be there!

Gadiantons, they are the Pot holes, and the evil schemers are the Banditos.

The commandments are more like road signs warning of the curve. Guardrails are more like government solutions that make us feel safer, but that only results in people driving less carefully around the curve. Those who hit the rail are sometimes injured more than if the rail had not been there... which makes it a great analogy for government enforced policy.
