The Youth of Our Church

Post by Juliette »

There was a service project in our community this weekend. The youth from our Stake cleaned up an area decimated by
last years Wallow fire. These young men and women gave up their Saturday to work a job as dirty and labor intensive
as any I've seen. Unbelieveable how hard they worked.

I think about spring break. Seems to be a time for traveling to exotic places or lakes, to indulge in binge drinking and any number of activities that aren't wholesome. Summertime is the same thing for many. Not the youth here. Such impressive youth in this Church!

This Gospel helps the youth of the Church to live the standards and keep the commandments of God.

"For The Strength Of the Youth"
The pamphlet is divided into the following 19 sections:
1.Agency and Accountability
2.Dating
3.Dress and Appearance
4.Education
5.Entertainment and Media
6.Family
7.Friends
8.Gratitude
9.Honesty and Integrity
10.Language
11.Music and Dancing
12.Physical and Emotional Health
13.Repentance
14.Sabbath Day Observance
15.Service
16.Sexual Purity
17.Tithes and Offerings
18.Work and Self-Reliance
19.Go Forward with Faith

I know the Lord is close to our youth. They are the future.

President Gordon B. Hinckley loved the youth of the Church. Shortly after he was sustained as President of the Church in 1995, he said to the press: “We are particularly proud of our youth. I think we have never had a stronger generation of young men and women than we have today. … They are going forward with constructive lives, nurturing themselves both intellectually and spiritually. We have no fears or doubts concerning the future of this work.”

This is me in the bikini t-shirt getting ready to float down the big ditch with the young women. They love when I wear it! :))

True to the Faith

Shall the youth of Zion falter
In defending truth and right?
While the enemy assaileth,
Shall we shrink or shun the fight? No!
True to the faith that our parents have cherished,
True to the truth for which martyrs have perished,
To God's command,
Soul, heart, and hand,
Faithful and true we will ever stand.

It is an admixture of the faithful and the wicked- and the righteous part will live to see the prophecies regarding this land fulfilled. There is a definite culture prevalent in many Church youth that prevailed in the rising generation after King Benjamin.

This rift causes contention and problems in every Young Singles Ward and youth group...
