I recommend that each person who wishes to post be required to identify him/herself with his/her actual true name... no more hiding behind the anonymous mask.

We have ample evidence that Anonymity leads to distractions and pot-shots from the fellow hiding behind the mask.

Which general authority was it that warned against the use of masks, anonymity? I suggest this warning against "masks" and anonymity should apply to this forum. Immediately.

I dont agree with having to reveal one's "real name".. I do agree though that those identities who cause contention, for the sake of causing contention, should be banned.

If one was truly in tune with Gospel teachings, then one would not create multiple IDs. Which in reality is just a deception move. And we all know who the progenitor of deceit is.
Also those coming in with their multiple IDs are really telling on themselves.. Showing who they really are.

I come to this forum to learn and at times chime in with my take on things. Life is short. Our days of probabtion are limited. Who has time for silliness and multiple-id foolishness? i surely dont. As we all know, the devil has work for idle hands.. It appears some have too much time at their disposal, and their new employer is starting them out in the mail room so to speak.

One of the things I loved most about President Gordon B. Hinckley was his sense of humor. It breaks the monotony and lightens the mood. I feel the same way about music. Can't be in a bad mood while listening to good music.
And yes, maybe some of us do have time on our hands. I have earned mine.
I find you're scolding to be more contentious than most remarks on this forum. Lighten up.

i am in no place to scold anyone and i dont think my post came off as such. if it did, that wasnt my intention.
to your point, yes humor and light-heartedness are always good. however, there is a difference between humor and deception.
maybe i am wrong in this, but i see ldsff as an online version of sunday school. i love your contribution.. i love everyone's contributions.
everyone provides some take-aways that i can apply to my life betterment.
i guess i just find it disheartening when i discover those who provide so much joyful contributions are at the same time bringing contention under another id.
i know, never put your trust in flesh, blah, blah.. but it would be nice to know that the person running off continuous inspirational posts, is not also wearing another mask of deception.

Speaking of good music and totally apt to this conversation.. The great Jamaican singer John Holt penned a song called 'Fancy Makeup'... The take away, not all that glitters is gold.

Dont watch the pretty dress that they wear
The fancy makeup all over their face.
Those rubys diamonds that cover their neck.
That fancy handbag to match their dress.
They will rob and cheat you.
They will make you wanna cry.
They will rob you.

Great post morefiyah! I also enjoy you're contributions. I have been accused of coming here with with a different name after having been Janadele. I can berely handle my own account! There are so many people I like on this forum. Even the ones who think I dislike them, I like them. I really don't want to reveal too much information about myself. I would come to a get-together however. I think I would bring water balloons. :)

Doctor Jones, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I don't come onto the Freedom Forum to make friends, or to use my true identity to bring credit to myself, or to use my identity to discredit others. I come onto this site to discuss issues that I believe in and argue against those I don't. I come here to learn and grow. I don't need to know the true identity of other members to feel the truthfulness of their statements.

There are some on this site I've met and really like. Some of them know who I am. Knowing their real name or knowing their moniker doesn't change how I feel about them or their opinions.

steve i appreciate your sentiment, but what, on a forum where we go on about the beast and microchip and gadiantons
where we saw how you got the arse from gods on uni by over zealous thought nazi's?
where our membership sits in $350m white man centres where 22,000 people stand and applause war criminals like dick cheney and steal the placards of protesters, forcing them into protest zones?
aint gonna happen mate
and what, the dribble i post- sure way to get me fired
i've got friends here working in senior positions as companies like PIMCO, Goldman Sachs and so on.
my wife and kids dont deserve that
it would be easier in this world to come out as a homo
anyone can (and plenty have) pm'd me and i've sent them links to who i am...but i trust them enough to open up like that

if this were a "fighter planes dot come dot discussion forum" yeah, open up, but not here

first they came for the communists
then the no fly lists
then the list that zealots and FBI agents dredged from here of people expressing anti obama anti gay sentiment

LDS Freedom Forum. Doesn't this mean I can use a pseudonym in the name of freedom? We have no idea who reads these threads outside of the forum members. Either have every person that logs onto this site or has the ability to read all the posts become a known member, or anonymity is worth hanging on to. Not everyone here likes our current POTUS. Very few members agree on the same candidates for POTUS, and scriptural knowledge has a huge gap in meaning(s). If true names were known, this could cause a deeper resentment and increased conflict, because it becomes more personal and less objective.

Yes, I got banned for a while, but was just reinstated today. The ban on my user account indicated I would not be able to post anything again until December 30, 2015. Brian lifted it after I sent him an e-mail - apparently he did not know about it but did say something about the 'voice of the people' being the reason, so I am guessing it had to do with a culmination of things (Jacob Cochran, the Cochranites, the truth about polygamy, 501c3, City Creek mall, questioning church actions/inaction, etc.). One of the mods apparently decided to try and teach me a lesson. I gave Brian my word that I'd behave from now on and keep my comments to worldly events, politics and gospel discussions without getting other forum members riled up about some of the things I've said in the past. Thanks to the shadowman, Brian was made aware of the banishment and reinstated me. :) Anyway - there's a lot of Ron Paul things to discuss, so I'm going to focus on that for a while.

Thanks Juliette - yes, Brian is a very fair owner of this site and typically won't ban someone permanently unless he is inundated with PM's by multiple other forum members about their behavior/comments. Even then, he would review the complaints and make a fair and just decision. I used to have a picture of Samuel the Lamanite on the wall as my avatar, but that personality got me in trouble a few times as I spoke my mind about anything without being careful what I was saying, so I'm learning to tame my tongue so as to not upset Brian or overstep the bounds and rules he has set for the forum.

The LDSFF members local to Northern Utah used to have dinner meetings and stuff like that. Maybe us Arizonians should do something like that sometime. :-?

Do they cook Turkey?
