Hi. My name is Charlotte and I have lived in Utah for much of my life but have also spent a few years in Hawaii and in Los Angeles. I am a lifelong active member of the church, married my husband in the temple 10 years ago, and I have two children and one on the way.
Two years ago I accidentally came across a clear and irreconcilable contradiction between what the church teaches now and what used to be taught as doctrine. I struggled with that and ultimately decided to stay in the church, although I had to really alter my expectations. Fortunately soon after that I discovered an author (Denver Snuffer) that helped me to realize I have some very serious personal responsibilities, regardless of whether or not the church is perfect or imperfect. My destiny is in my own hands.
I absolutely believe that God hears my prayers and blesses me. However, I really struggle to hear Him talking back to me.
I love the Book of Mormon and listen to it on cassette tape every day. (Go ahead and laugh at me.) I homeschool my children. My church calling is the ward organist.
Greetings from Tooele, Utah

Re: Greetings from Tooele, Utah
Welcome!
I too had a time where I "came across a clear and irreconcilable contradiction between what the church teaches now and what used to be taught as doctrine." So I can relate.
