Some years ago, I began a study of horse-bone samples in the Americas, using carbon-14 methods to search for pre-Columbian horses.
So, Dr. Jones, did you find any pre-Columbian horse-bones?

I've wondered about the horses of the Nez Perce up in the Wallowa Mountains of NE Oregon - between the Columbia and Snake Rivers.

Just such spotted horses are found in visual records of the Chinese & Persians. Nehru of India had a spotted horse identical to a registered foundation Appaloosa mare I own. I don't know about DNA tracing, but the Appaloosa are quite different from the modern Spanish horses which we are told are the earliest on the American Continent. I've never seen a leopard spot Mustang or Andalusian.

As for the newordermormons, the first thing that came to mind was 'whited sepulchers' and the second was 'a large and spacious building; and it stood as it were in the air, high above the earth'.

There may be many compelling & seductive discussions over that way, but I venture to guess that what goes on there is 'blood sport'.
1 Nephi 15:

2 And it came to pass that I beheld my brethren, and they were disputing one with another concerning the things which my father had spoken unto them.

3 For he truly spake many great things unto them, which were hard to be understood, save a man should inquire of the Lord; and they being hard in their hearts, therefore they did not look unto the Lord as they ought.

Whited sepulchres is about the most fitting title from the scriptures that could be thought of. We should contact them and let them know what Jesus called them!

Actually, your name was mentioned in this context the other day at mormonapologetics. What ever became of that study?
