GLENN BECK IS MORMON!

Post by sbenard »

I just read that Glenn Beck, who has a new show on CNN Headline News in the evenings, is an LDS convert.

He joined the Church as part of his recovery from drugs an alcohol.

I really enjoy his show, and agree with much of what he says. Recently, he has been reading quotes from the Iranian President that makes me shiver every time!

He is equally critical of both Republicans and Democrats, and last week, he implied that he is a non-Republican conservative.

He is on CNN Headline News weeknights at 7 pm EST. They rebroadcast his show again at 9 pm EST and at other hours during the night-time. Let's support one of the more prominent LDS voices in the broadcast media!

Here are his two websites:

Doesnt sound like the Glen Beck I listened to before? Maybe he is learning?

It has been many months since I listened to him but, I felt he was not awake from his slumber yet. If he wakes up he will be a great strength.

I must say he also seemed to mix entertainment with the seriousness of politics. Additionally he had brought to light some serious greviences that would have otherwise been ignored. For example the Sex abuse acts and sexual behavior going on in a High School. Also I believe he was the one who brought the Terry Shievo case to the spotlight.

I like watching Glenn, but wish he would stop using some mild swear words. Maybe if we all send him and email, we can convince him to give up using those words.

Tonight, he had one of the most frightening segments I've seen in a long time; the link on his website is to this article about a terrorist that entered the US with a nuclear weapon which has been targeted at NY or Washington, D.C.

What is most frightening is that Bin Laden is sending out warnings to all Muslims in those two cities to GET OUT ASAP! Here is the article that Glenn mentioned on his TV show and the link on his website:

Also about this same story

Post by sbenard »

Glenn Beck also recently had some fascinating stories about a doctrine in Islam that justifies telling lies, making agreements, and deceit if it can be used to defeat the enemies of Islam. That's precisely what Iran and it's President is doing right now over the nukes! To them, it's just another (justified) strategy, in their eyes! Yikes!

He also ran a segment on his TV program that after 9-11, Bin Laden was criticized even inside Al Queda because the Koran requires that before you attack an enemy of Islam, you must warn them and offer to them the opportunity to convert is Islam. The most recent messages from Bin Laden and Al Zawahiri did just that! They warned America that they will be attacked, and gave them the opportunity to convert to Islam to avoid the attack.

While most Americans, not knowing the purpose of those messages and the included warnings, would consider them the product of a couple of insane nuts, their purpose was solely to meet the requirement of Islam that they warn their enemies before an attack and offer the opportunity to convert to Islam to avoid the impending attack.

Those stories, in combination with this latest story I mentioned in my last message, really send chills up my spine!

Just in time for the mid term elections.

If those attacks occur, then congress sold our liberties and freedoms in vain, for security.

look if a person sprays for wood beetles and fungi in pines and firs surrounding his majestic red wood, with out spraying for beetles and fungi in his majestic red wood; then the majestic red wood rots and decays to a point where the slightest wind will fall the majestic red wood.

Glenn Beck's radio show comes on AM 570 here in Utah, knrs.com - I listen to him once in a while.

He recently mentioned that he is reading "Tragedy & Hope" by carroll quigley and "The Naked Capitalist" by W. Cleon Skousen - those are two books that tell of the truth of who really runs the world.

There is hope for Glenn Beck, but he still has some learning to do before he truly understand the principles of freedom and proper role of government.

Also, if you want to laugh, listen to his show :) It's fun - He's a comedian.

Wow that's encouraging. I just wish he would stop the fear-mongering for the Neo-Con "bird cage liner" that the globalists are using to install central bank power in non-compliant nations, and which I believe they will turn and use as a pretext for stronger globabl intervention in America.

Who was it here on the forum who sent some of Skousen's Books to Beck a few years ago?
He has really been waking a lot of people up since he has read that material. I seem to recall it was one of our good forum members who sent him a Skousen book.

Here is an interesting article of Glenn Beck that I found from the New York Times.
Beck seeks to rally disaffected, aggrieved Americans
By Brian Stelter and Bill Carter
New York Times News Service
Published: Monday, March 30, 2009 12:07 a.m. MDT

NEW YORK — "You are not alone," Glenn Beck likes to say. For the disaffected and aggrieved Americans of the Obama era, he couldn't have picked a better rallying cry.
Beck, an evening host on the Fox News Channel, is suddenly one of the most powerful media voices for the nation's conservative populist anger. Barely two months into his job at Fox, his program is a phenomenon: It typically draws about 2.2 million viewers, more than any other cable news host except Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity, despite being on at 5 p.m., a slow shift for cable news.
With a mix of moral lessons, outrage and an apocalyptic view of the future, Beck, a longtime radio host who jumped to Fox from CNN's Headline News channel this year, is channeling the feelings of an alienated class of Americans.
In an interview, Beck, who recently re-watched the 1976 film "Network," said he identified with the character of Howard Beale, the unhinged TV news anchorman who declares on the air that he was "mad as hell."
"I think that's the way people feel," Beck said. "That's the way I feel."
In part because of Beck, Fox News — long identified as the favored channel for conservatives and Republican leaders — is enjoying a resurgence just two months into President Barack Obama's term. While top-rated among cable news channels, Fox's ratings slipped during the long Democratic primary season last year. Now it is back on firm footing as the presumptive network of the opposition, with more than 1.3 million viewers watching at any given time, more than twice as many as CNN or MSNBC.
While O'Reilly, the 8 p.m. host, paints himself as the outsider and Hannity, the 9 p.m. host, is more consistently ideological, Beck presents himself more as a revivalist in a troubled land.
He preaches against politicians, features regular segments titled "Constitution Under Attack" and "Economic Apocalypse," and occasionally breaks into tears.
"That's good, dramatic television," said Phil Griffin, the president of a Fox competitor, MSNBC. "That's who Glenn Beck is."
Beck says he believes every word he says on his TV show and the radio show that he still does from 9 a.m. to noon each weekday. He said that America is "on the road to socialism" and says that "God and religion are under attack in the U.S." (Beck is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and for the third year in a row, he will emcee Provo's Stadium of Fire Fourth of July celebration.)
At the same time, though, he says he is an entertainer. "I'm a rodeo clown," he said repeatedly, adding once with a coy smile, "It takes great skill."
And like a rodeo clown, Beck incites critics to attack by dancing in front of them.
"There are absolutely historical precedents for what is happening with Beck," said Tom Rosenstiel, the director of the Project for Excellence in Journalism. "There was a lot of radio evangelism during the Depression. People were frustrated and frightened. There are a lot of scary parallels now."
The conservative writer David Frum said Beck's success "is a product of the collapse of conservatism as an organized political force, and the rise of conservatism as an alienated cultural sensibility."
"It's a show for people who feel they belong to an embattled minority that is disenfranchised and cut off," he said.
Sitting in his corner office overlooking Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, Beck rejected such charges but acknowledged that some people see sinister meanings in his commentaries. He said the people "who are spreading the garbage that I'm stirring up a revolution haven't watched the show."
To answer his critics, Beck delivered a 17-minute commentary — remarkably long by cable standards — on March 23, answering criticisms, including one from Bill Maher that he was producing "the same kind of talking" that led Timothy McVeigh to blow up the Oklahoma City federal building in 1995.
"Let me be clear," Beck said. "If someone tries to harm another person in the name of the Constitution or the 'truth' behind 9/11 or anything else, they are just as dangerous and crazy as those we don't seem to recognize anymore, who kill in the name of Allah."
When it was suggested in an interview that he sometimes sounds like a preacher, he responded, "No. You've never met a more flawed guy than me."
He added later: "I say on the air all time, 'If you take what I say as gospel, you're an idiot.' "

It seems to me, at least, that Glenn Beck is becoming more "awake" all of the time. You can tell by the way he says some things that he knows a lot more about what's happening than he can say on air.

I don't know. I want to be optimistic, but Glenn Beck recently teamed up with James Meigs of Popular Mechanics, and debunked the “conspiracy theory” of the FEMA camps.
If he's comming around, it's certainly not in a straight line.

Simonds Ryder became an apostate after he received several letters from Joseph Smith, who mistakenly misspelled his name (the Prophet spelled it "Rider") Ryder became convinced that this mistake showed that Joseph could not be a prophet. He later participated in the mob that tarred and feathered Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon.

I do not expect someone to be perfectly aligned with my own beliefs to have respect for them. As an imperfect man and an imperfect servant to my Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, I do not expect others to be perfect. To do otherwise would condemn myself as a fraud.

LukeAir2008 wrote:No-one is judging. The point is that having one's name on the records of the church doesn't really mean an awful lot. A Mormon can be a Holy Saint and a Mormon can be a demonic monster...and all points in between. And you've just given two examples of that! :D
I think my last post was more to remind myself of the many, many times that I have unfairly judge another. Thank you for the comment.

Regarding the post about BinLaden and warnings of new terrorist attacks, I would urge anyone interested in a fresh (and not mainstream) perspective to read the book Imperial Hubrisby Michael Scheuer. It's fascinating and illuminating. It should be in the Must Read section.
